I have been asked this question before, and I'm not sure. When I was like 18 I wished I was able to drink like the law was before where you could drink at 18. Yet, now that I'm older than 21 I feel 21 is a great age. I think 20 would be fine too though.

Wow... Interesting. I wonder if any other states will want to follow suit?

Thanks for your comment. Do you think that the government would actually allow for the drinking age to go down or is it something that is only allowed to go up?

I don't think it will be lowered. They don't give back what they take away.

I am glad it is 21. As personally, most teenagers are too inmature to be able to handle what responsibilities come along with drinking. Not too say everyone over 21 is either, but they are a little more knowledgeable and most are ready to be an Adult by then.

what is wrong with you the majority of them are but yes some aren't i don't understand why it is day .... o wait religion is to blame not to say that drinking doesn't have its problems the law should be changed to 16 but you should be able to louse you right if you don't behave appropriately I’m 16 i drink a bit everyday mostly after a long day no a lots though its not a addiction and never will because its a matter of self control if if you dare say i’m immature ... you will be wrong because you don't know me im a accomplished wise person

This is a toughy. I know from experience that under age kids are going to find a way regardless of what the law says the age is. I did, my friends did. I am in my thirties now and have a teenager and think it should be higher but I am also realistic enough to know that they will find ways around it.

I agree with you, they do find ways around it, I did myself too. Yet, once I hit 21, it wasn't fun anymore. I think underage drinking is just a rush for teenagers, and once you're legal it's not fun anymore.

I agree with the Drinking age being 21 for the kids to buy or drink in bar's. however I think that if the parrents want to teach the child some responsibility where drinking is concerned let them drink in the parrents house, control where the child can be monitored and teach them to drink responsiblity. I think education is the key. teach them at an early age and maybe when the grow-up they wont drink to excess, and kill someone while driving.
ohh and I was one who when 18 was legal to drink. infact the law changed the year I was 18 so my friends a year younger couldnt. that was strange also

drinking now a days has become a fashion,a social status.
we live in india where the limit is set at 21 years,i.e. a boy/girl will not be served drinks in the restaurant.
but this rule is always broken.
recently there was an article in leading newspaper regarding the drinking habits/patterns.
it is found that most boys/girls start at very early age,the age when the implications are not cared for.
the fantasy or social status symbol slowly turns into a habit hard to forego/quit.
