How long do you wait until you decide it's time to mark a best response?

I wait 2 weeks if the discussion doesn't die by then I will wait till it does, but usually by the end of 2 weeks I will decide on a best response.

about a week from the last response. that way I give anyone else more time before deciding whose answer provided me with information I asked for. Even if I liked it or not, it would be only fair ^^

I just wait 2 days. Then after I read all the respond I will decide my best respond and rate it. I know that we must give this mark best respond. because to show the respondent that we are stay active and read their respond so hopefully they will respond to our new discussion.

Let say someone is busy with his work so he just log to my lot only twice a week (Sunday and let say Wednesday). If your discussion start in Monday, by the time he log to mylot on Wednesday, your discussion already have a conclusion. He so interesting to join your discussion, but you already pick the best answer, he just lost his opportunity to receive your best response as he have a great solution in his mind. Don't you think two days a bit too soon?

At least a week or if my need for an answer is urgent, as soon as someone gives me what I need then I mark it as best response - like when I asked about Account details on an ATM card and somebody responded in a few minutes, he received best response right away.
Thanks for the response on my discussion!
