Do you prefer shopping on Saturday or the week days.

Usually when I want to buy something, I go on a weekday. I find it is less crowded and I get more attention. Today I had to get some money out of the bank, which because it was the start of the long weekend was not as crowded. I actually got a teller by myself. Well after that, we decided to go to the Mall, and since we already had coffee before we left, decided to do a little browsing.
So we went into Coles and looked at the books. I was thinking of buying something, but for some reason besides my preferring it more along the middle of the month, I do not exactly love to buy things on Saturday. There are way too many people and if I want to ask the saleslady about it, there are about four people ahead of me.
So what happens is that I go without purchasing or wait until later on.
So are you like me and prefer not shopping on weekdays or do you prefer shopping on Saturdays, not counting necessary items like groceries that you cannot help.

I avoid shopping on Saturdays and Sundays like the plague! That is partly why I used to love working shifts, I would always volunteer to work the weekends and have my days off in the week, you go shopping in the week and the shops and high street were empty, go shopping at the weekend and they'd be packed and frustration and toleration levels were low! Mind you I hate shopping at the best of times, so I will always leave it to the week, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays are the best days for shopping in my opinion, so much easier, quieter and less stress!

I love Mondays. Then you can be sure that everything is there and nothing has been sold out. Unless it is our computer store. The guys who run it are East Indian and so they have it open on Sundays and then the Sunday shoppers come it, buy off all the sales stuff and by Monday it has all gone.

Yea! Why jostle with the crowd if there is no need to?

I prefer to shop during the week in the evening. When I wasn't working full time I would shop in the late hours so I wouldn't have to deal with much of a crowd. I tend to use a lot of coupons and people hate getting behind me because the cashiers want to check nearly every single one.

You do have a problem. I wonder who was that person who held me up on line. At least it was not you. We use the in store coupons and we do shop on Tuesdays, but even then it is crowded. I cannot understand why the cashiers have to check them, but then if the checkers were not near-sighted, they would have to put on their glasses, and that does take some time.

I feel the same way you do. I cannot stand shopping on Saturdays! It is way too crowded, especially grocery shopping. Now that school has started back, shopping on the week days is even more convenient. I did make a trip to the bank today to make a deposit, and I was thrilled to be the only one in line. That almost never happens!

I had to take some money out, and I was almost the only one there, and then we went to the Mall - my husband 'needed' some lottery tickets. The Mall was crowded. It was a good thing I did not need to buy anything, because we were constantly almost getting bumped into people and my husband with his stroke and bad balance, had a hard time keeping out of the way.
Our Mall is usually full most of the week, but on Saturdays, it is standing room only.

Yeah, i hear ya. It makes it easier when the kids aren't w/u asking 4 everything that they see. LOL. My son is actually good about not asking for everything but he still gets more than i intended 2 buy 4 him when we go (ie: toys LOL) It's hard 4 me 2 say no lol.

I like the weekdays. There aren't as many moms with screaming children then. I love children but it makes me cringe to hear them cry and scream. Sometimes I start crying a little, too, thinking of their misery. So I usually shop weekdays.

I wonder also what kind of parents they have that let them get away with it and do not correct them. Our sons were well behaved. If they started something we would head for the door and tell them that we could not get the thing they loved. I can take children's noises, and I am always telling my husband, he's hungry, she's trying to talk, or I wonder what they are saying? I never had trouble when our boys were small, but then I was not being selfish and thinking of myself.

I never go shopping at the weekend, I always go in the week. I like to go early in a morning as well because then I know that it is not going to be busy. I absolutely hate it when there are loads of people about and it takes ages to just do a tiny bit of shopping.

But usually it is not that bad.

I love the weekdays as well, although here even they are too crowded. So you can imagine the weekends. terrible. I do not mind sitting down or window shopping, but even that is a pain as I have my windows already.

When I was working, our payday was on Friday, that was years ago, and I hated shopping on those days. I prefer Mondays as there is hardly anyone in the stores then.

I don't have any problems shopping on weekends however I definitely prefer to shop during the week. I prefer shopping either rather early in the morning or a bit later in the day or even at night. There simply are not a lot of people around to get in your way or to make you wait in line when you are ready to check out. It's just too much of a hassle sometimes especially when you go shopping at some of the larger stores in the larger cities.

I find that on the weekends that they do not have enough tellers, because that is when people have their time off, and sometimes the girls hired are not that experienced so they take longer, not only that with everyone bumping each other with shopping charts and you not getting enough service. I mean during the middle of the week, I can get ask a sales person how something works and because there is not as many customers, she can help me or he can.

Hello dear suspenseful. I don't have a preference of doing shopping either on weekdays or on weekends, because my working schedule is different from the majority of the others'. On weekend we might be working while on weekdays we might be having a rest because of our peculiar school calendar. So it doesn't matter to me which day of the week I do some shopping. Thank you, friend.

With me, if I go on the weekdays, at least I can get more service, but if I go on the weekends, then unless I know exactly what I want and can get it, I find that I have to compete with so many people as well as what I want may not be in the store, I would have to order it and pick it up later or have it delivered. Really I do not like the hassle, and usually what happens they will send the wrong size or a substitute. So on the weekdays, if the item is not in stock, then I can get the salesperson to write the correct order as she is not usually distracted and if it is not available, I can get it someplace else.

About the only day I ever have available is Saturday. If I go on the weekday I feel like I am too rushed because I have to get home to get the kids off to bed. The weekend is great because I don't have to worry about when the kids need to get to bed.

We used to go shopping on the weekend when our kids were small. But now that they are grown, we do shopping on the weekdays. Also since my husband worked the afternoon shift until he retired, we did lot of our shopping in the morning. Now we have the whole weekdays to shop but we usually limit even that.

I prefer week days. The stores are crazy busy on weekends. Back when I was a teenage girl looking for boys I would have said weekends, because that is when the boys are there. But now that I am a married adult, I really prefer to shop without the crowds, especially if my kids are with me.

When our boys were young, we lived in Saskatoon and then moved to Winnipeg, MB. and shopped on Wednesday because that is what everyone else did, and we never shopped on Saturdays, that was for going places like to parks and as for Sundays, well we were not Jewish, so we did not shop then and I suppose they preferred during the week as well. Even now that the boys have grown and have homes of their own, we shop on Tuesday, but for some silly reason they do not have the free samples then. I guess maybe we should switch to Mondays.

It is way to crowded on the weekends. And you cannot get that good service. Too many people there and I hate the line ups and usually the one in front of you is searching through the bottom of her purse for coins. So it is best to buy on Mondays since then you can get what you want.

I tend not to go shopping at the weekends, it's too busy, takes ages to get a car parking space, then you have to queue for ages if you want to try anything on or buy anything! I don't mind so much if i am with friends as weekends are the only times we can get together and we can make a day of it and have a giggle! If i'm alone though i definitely prefer to shop during the week when it is quieter, working shifts it means i often have the chance to do it! If only i had the money to buy all the things i want though!! hehe xxx

Yes that money does seem to be the problem. I went without for so long, that even when I have the money, I am nervous about spending it. But here on the weekends it takes a while to get a parking spot, especially if your husband is the driver and he is almost at the point of getting handicapped parking and cannot get it yet. So he tries to park so he does not have to walk that far into the store so we are forever driving around until we get close enough. It is even bad on the weekdays, but at least we can get service from the salespeople and there is less tendency for impulse shopping and we do not have to return anythng.. On the weekends it is just us window shopping and having coffee.

Window shopping can be just as much fun! Parking spaces are a menace even for people without those problems, so it must be a nightmare for you!! I think it's probably a good think to be bit cautious when it comes to spending money, a lot of people end up spending too much! xxx

I do not like shopping at night. We do not live near the Mall, it takes a thirty minute walk and that is walking fast to get there, and I do not like walking in the dark. I prefer Mondays as that is when the stores are fairly empty during the day, By Wednesdays, they start getting crowds and I do not like it that much.

Most of the time I enjoy shopping during the week because my children are in school and it is easier to shop when I can go by myself. I also like to shop on the weekends but only when my husband is with me if I have the children with me.

My sons are now gone, and even then we preferred to shop during the weekdays because it was less crowded. Saturday was a hassle and usually because we had the children with us and especially around Christmas time, as my husband would have to watch the boys while I got my present for the boys and him, and then I would have to watch the present while my husband got the presents for them. Usually he had gotten my present before and hid it in the trunk or down in the basement or in the garage since it was usually large.

I don't really want to go shopping during weekends because there are just too much crowd and traffic. So I do most of my shopping during weekdays. I also avoid shopping during paydays even if it falls during weekdays. I also choose the most out of the way mall or department store to do my shopping.

We have a couple of Malls where we live, but even on weekdays, I avoid Walmart, but we do have to get groceries at Superstore but we go on Tuesdays, and even then it is crowded so weekends are impossible. I will shop at the Mall on Monday or the other days as the stores are not that crowded and I can get what I want and get out. Most of what we do on the weekends is to window shop or just have coffee and watch the other shoppers run around.

I am not claustrophobic, but I did work as a telemarketer and I got so many people saying nasty things, that I try to avoid crowds as much as possible, just in case one of those people who was mad at me for trying to sell them furnace cleaning had x-ray vision.
And on the weekdays, I can ask the salesperson more about the product.

I prefer shopping when it is quiet either during the week or on a Sunday. I don't really like seeing hoards of people and browsing when shops are really busy. However I love shopping whatever day it is and it would not stop me from buying something if I wanted it.

I like shopping a lot, but do not have enough money to do it. Right now I have to look for a new fall purse. I do prefer Mondays though because it is fairly free at the store and I can get the service, but I also love myLotting and that is keeping me from going. I find if I shop at Saturday, I usually buy something I regret so I just window shop then. It makes it easier.

I had to shop on Saturdays when I was working as well, but then there was not that many people around, but we had to watch out for those darned dinosaurs.
Now it is the matter of less crowded on the weekdays than the weekends and usually by the weekends you really cannot get what I want, so I do window shopping instead.
