I can not swallow a pill!

Hi. My daughter has that problem. She can't swallow any kind of pills. If she tries, she gags. She had to take pills for something and couldn't get them down. So, she took them to a pharmacy and they put it into liquid for her. She doesn't have any problem brushing her teeth, it's just swallowing pills.

I can understand where you are coming from,ever since I was little I have always had a strong gag reflex so I could never swallow a pill,and every time I tried I ended up throwing it back up,so now I have to either get medicines in liquid form or in chewable form,or for medicines like my blood pressure medicine I have to crush it up and take it with water.

Sheepie, I've always had the same problem. Since my health is very poor, I have to take almost 50 pills every day! Several years ago, a doctor gave me a pill splitter, so I could break them without crushing them to bitter powders, and I could swallow the smaller pieces. I've had to relace it a number of times. All the pharmacies have them for just a few dollars, and they're well worth whatever the cost is. When it comes to capsules, of course, they can't be broken. I guess I'm pretending to be an infant or a pet when I put them in a spoonful of yogurt and they go down with it! Good luck! It's a pain.

A friend of mine at work has the same problem. I suggested she swallow her pills with a spoonful of yogurt or ice cream. So, every morning at work, she dumps her pills in a container of yogurt and has her "party mix". Works like a charm.

Hey, Sheepie, everything's fine? Well, I used to have this problem.. Then, I learned by myself a little trick to "fool" my body: I pretend that I'm VERY thirsty and, then, drink a glass of water the fastest that I can with the pill in my mouth. Result: I always manage to swallow it. ^^ Try it! Maybe it works for you!

Have you tried to use a mortar and pestle? (I think thats how its spelled @_@) Try crushing your pills and then putting them in your food instead of just swallowing them. When you brush your tongue just stick it out of your mouth instead... Use mouth wash to clean off the rest. there is really no reason to go all out with tounge brushing... its just a selling point that tooth brush companies use to sell higher end tooth brushes... just like how yogurt says that "live and active cultures" were put into their yogurt when live and active cultures are in all dairy products and they do nothing for you lol.

That's funny. I'm even laughing in real life of your discussion. The only time you'd see me gagging is if I have a stomach flu, If I'm watching a nasty viral video(such as 2 girls 1 cup), or if I see someone else puking. It sickens me.
