Objectionable posts

Having read the myLot rules, etc., many times, I'm still not clear on what makes a post objectionable. Is it only questionable language? Why not rudeness? I've read some really horrible things, and yet people complain that they don't know why their discussions were deleted. Isn't calling names or something like that just because somebody says something you didn't want to read pretty objectionable? Read some of the posts in Politics, and you'll see some real hatred! Read some of the posts in Religion, and you'll see some real hatred. Isn't hatred objectionable?

Hey Cobra, I'll never understand why Religion and politics brings out the hate in people. I know we all get frustrated with ignorance, but just because we have differences in our beliefs is no reason to be hateful and treat others with disrespect. I have to admit, I tend to stay away from discussions on religion and politics because they are such volatile subjects. I am not ignorant in these subjects, I just don't need someone treating me hatefully because I have a different opinion. Personally, I think their discussions should be deleted if they disrespect others beliefs. leenie

It's especially absurd when it comes to religion, because they all ask that we love one another! I often avoid them, too, because I don't want a good mood to be broken! Deletion is a good idea, but there would probably be major wars over what's disrespect and what isn't!

I'd say so. I try to avoid those columns. I know how I fill about religion. I'm not gonna argue it. Everyone has there own opinion. As for politics, I have no opinion, therefore, I stay away. I don't know how they talk. I do know when people talk on those subject it can get ugly.......;-)

Nice to meet you, Walk. I wish I had your forbearance. I become drawn into some of these discussions, and I'm often sorry I did. Having people on this site from all over the world, in all age groups, and all religions, should mean we're sharing ideas, not spewing hate!

The hate is the reason I don't even go to the sites. I try to stay clear. Most people leave it on the computer. But some take it very serious. So I just stay clear...;-) Nice to meet you as well.

hum i dont think iv had any of my post removed or rejected yet and i hope i never do, but i have had someones responds to my post removed and i dont understand why but the discussion is still there but the responds to it has disappeared i find that really strange, i didn't think there was anything wrong with what that person said i only got 1 or 2 responses to that topic and it looks like both responses are now gone.

How odd! Maybe those who responded weren't cognizant of the guidlines? Usuall, I think the whole discussion is deleted.
