Airsoft beginner

i have had an airsoft gun for a while and have mostly just used it for target shooting. i was recently invited to play a real match with my friend and my mom said i cant. i will be wearing a face mask and we are using very low power guns(mine is a crosman pulse R70 with 170 FPS). can someone who has been playing airsoft for a while please explain to her that these pellets do no hurt and are not dangerous at all.
