If you're one of the people who had to deal with getting divorced, what was your first reaction when the final divorce papers came in the mail?
For me, even though I was the one that filed, I cried my eyes out because I tried so hard to keep the family together, which made me feel like a failure. I finally snapped out of it, and rejoiced within an hour.

Pretty much same as yours except add in there that I felt like I wasted 13 years. I also felt sad to let go of the dream of what he COULD have been. After I left the second one I feel nothing but relief to get out and alive again. I still feel sad about the first though. We could have been such a great family but his drinking and womanizing ruined it. I see him now and think what a waste. He is still drinking and with women that I seriously can only call street scum...the bar hopping til they die types you know? My son has grown (he is 18 now) to be a good man despite of all of this but he is a joker type...always looking for attention since his dad ignored him for women and drink. He was always with his aunt or grandparents when 'with' dad. I feel sorry for all of us.
