because i dont, even though my eyes are closed, i still feel that the light is passing through my closed retina, so i wasnt able to sleep at all.
some people cant sleep in the dark, but as for me i would have a good sleep in a dark room. are you guys like me? or u are also afraid in the dark like some people.
happy day every one!

If I'm tired, i can sleep even if the lights are on. But if I'm not that tired and trying to force myself to sleep, i will get mad at those who on the light (usually my sister). But i agree that we can have a better sleep when the room is dark when we sleep. I read from a book that says when light are on when we sleep, our brain is not at the resting stage, it's in a stat which is half conscious, and i would make you tired when you wake up.

when I was younger, I always sleep lights on, but after few years I sleep with lights off, don't know the reason behind it, I can't sleep well even if there's just a small light.

HI rikkabren,
I would sleep fine with a night light on but not too bright. Just dimmed enough. I can't sleep when there is no light at all during at night. Because I would not be able to sleep and will feel as if I am suffocating. But if sleeping during day then I may be too tired to care about the bright room, of course curtains are closed.
