Does God Exist?

I've often found my self thinking (usually when I'm trying to fall asleep) if there really is a god. It's hard to explain god in the first place because no one really knows what s/he really is. People say god created the universe and everything else, but then who created god? Of course others say that there is no god and their basis and explanation almost always winds up with reincarnation. I was thinking about it the other day, what if reincarnation is true? That would explain natural talent as that soul has been through so many lives that the person is born with 100's of years of experience for that one talent. For example lets say Tiger Woods has a soul that's done nothing but played and mastered the game of golf in its previous lives, wouldn't that explain natural talent? Of course a christian would say that your soul goes to heaven if you've lived a good life, or hell if you should be punished. That said I hope something happens to us after we die, because an eternity of not being aware of yourself would be very boring. So what do you all think god or no god?

It is very difficult to comprehend and justify the existence/non-existence of God. There are quite a lot of debates on this issue. Tracing back through time, man has always been actively involved in activities which pertains to religion. Even ancient civilization worship something or someone, and many believed. Is it because of ignorance? I don't think so. For man has the power of reason that would guide them to believe something or not.
On the other hand, it might be quite easier to argue that God does not exist. This is because it is easier for man to believe something if he sensed it; that is, if we see, hear, touch or feel it. Everyday events could also be used by man to argue against the existence of God. For example, many bad things happen in our daily lives? If truly there is God who is all-knowing and all-powerful, why does he allow bad things to happen? But again, do we know the mind of God? And a common reply is that it is His will.
On a personal basis, I would say that I have faith in good things in our lives. However, I don't believe in religions.

Hi jon, each and everyone of us have their own belifs..
I personally am a christian and I believe my God is real.
It doesn't matter what God you believe in, as each religion teaches all good virtue to human being. Being religious helps mould a person (of course if your a follower) and it doesn't harm having a God you trust in!

Anything that gives us hope and makes us want to live our lives with purpose can't be a bad thing. So, does it really matter? No harm comes from believing in more than what you can see. If you live your life and there turns out to be no God, what have you lost? You likely won't even know if God does not exist.

Not for a moment would I ever think that God does not exist. However, there was a time that the image or personality of God was quite dim in my life (that was when I was still "young") but since then, I can clearly feel his presence in my life. It is true that in the face of trials, only then can you see the saving wonder of God's grace. If we try to scrutinize the personality of God in a rational way, or from a reasoning point of view, then we will never be convinced of his existence. We need to have faith in order to do this and faith means believing in things we cannot see. As I can see in your discussion, you are exploring the reasons why we should or should not believe in God's existence. We grew up in different environments. I believe that people in developed societies tend to be enticed by the material influences of technology, wealth, etc. But people who have know extreme hardship and pain in life grasp at anything and anyone they can just to keep on living. I have experience this at one time in my life and during those times, we have nothing else but God to depend on. If you think God is just an idea, then He is an idea who helps and cares for people who call on him. It usually takes more than just reading to convince people that God exists. We have to experience His work in our lives and when we do, we will not be wondering anymore if He exists or not, we just believe.

god is a powerful somebody that know everything that has happened, and everything about to happen. god first appear, at all religion is the start of the world. how god create us.
while those who don't believe in god believe in big bang. how the big bang form the universe. to them, only the big bang theory is able to fit in the mathematical equations.
but to me there is still a probability that god exist. if a man's life were to be end, after his/her life has ended. no heaven, no hell. so why would man want to do good deed? why work so hard?
this are all the signs that everyone, deep in their heart believe that there is someone behind our existence and our purpose in this world.

There is in deed a god, a one true god who has been existing for the past million years. He is the God of Abraham, Moses, Daniel... He is the same God we have today. Evidence? As we try to look around us, we could ask the question "does God really exist?" if i will try to answer that question, it would be YES. why? because, if i look around me, i see things that humans could not do. like for example, how do we explain that the sun is up there; that planets dont bump each other; that babies are very well formed in the womb of the mother; that there is really a boundary for the ocean and land; that there is night and day and so on. these are mere fact that God is in control, that He is existing because those things are beyond man's control. Only a God could control those things.
