Do you vote along your party lines?

Do you vote Democrat if you are a Democrat; Republican if you are a Republican. I am a registered Independent, so I vote based on a candidate's ideology, judgement, and integrity rather than their party. If you vote alongside party lines, why do you do so? Do you feel because it is your duty; that you have no choice? If you don't vote along party lines, how do you pick a person you're going to vote for?

I am registered with one of the parties but that is mostly for reasons related to local politics in my state. As far as presidential elections go, I have voted for candidates from both parties because, no, I do not vote the party, I vote for the person based on my belief that he is the best choice to lead this country.
I think that, if I simply voted along party lines, my life would be a lot easier right now!

I am moving toward being a Democrat lol I was an Independent for many years voting on the issues that mean the most to me. I usually vote for the Democrat because they usually share the same views as I do, but I have voted for Independents as well as Republicans.
