How did you enjoy life on Saturday?

I made a special trip to a local greek bakery and bought the family some treats!!! All I can say is OMG! We were introduced to greek cookies, etc, last year at a Greek Festival we went too! Then we found this bakery and now unless I am baking from scratch this is the only place I go for yummy things! Thankfully it is not in our town or my DH would be huge! LOL Greek cookies are so yummy! I also got some chocolate eclairs and a peanut butter mousse cup. To me it was okay, wasn't peanut buttery enough for me. So DH and I shared it. Check around your town to see if there is one hidden away and pay it a visit, you won't be disappointed.

Well, yesterday i went to the mall with my boyfriend. There was so much traffic everywhere, gosh! We decided to have lunch when we got there and relaxed a bit and then we strolled through the mall and played some arcade games (we always go to the arcade in the malls) then we walked some more, looked at some clothes, went to the cosmetics store and the grocery store. They have a special running on Guylian Chocolate Seashells. But you wouldn't believe how many people there were and just buying that and whipping cream seemed to defeat itself if we had to stand in line that long (that long = 30 mins or more I bet!) People were actually arguing in the lines about who were in front of who, etc. I decided to go to another store and finally buy those chopsticks I been eyeing for a while. I told him next week things should be back to normal and we'd come back and buy my chocolate and whipping cream then. We decided to head home and I just relaxed all the way there while he hugged me and when I looked at him he just smiled and seemed to peaceful. When I got home I fed my puppies, took a nice relaxing bath and I was going to make strawberry cheesecake ice cream, but truth be told...I got a bit lazy. I ended up only making the macaroni pie to have today with the curried duck my dad will be cooking. Today (August 31st) is Independence Day for my country, so a special lunch is good and I'll make my Strawberry Cheesecake Ice Cream today as well. Well that was my Saturday and a piece of my Sunday too! I will check out the net for some Greek recipes and see what I come up with. Thanks

Wow, I have never heard about long lines for chocolates before. Is chocolate something that is not that readily available in your country? Would you mind sharing your ice cream recipe? We just started making ice cream at home and we are having a lot of fun with it. Enjoy your holiday.

Hahaha, nope not at a candy store. It's a general grocery store, they just have a special running on those chocolates, buy one and get one free. They aren't flying off the shelves too fast because they are a really expensive brand (I decided to use my myLot earnings for the month to get them!) This is one of the biggest supermarkets we have in the country and they have tons of imported stuff. Oh and we get chocolate readily available everywhere. Well, this would be my first time trying the strawberry cheesecake ice cream recipe but here are two other recipes I just love to make over and over, they are so good! This one is for Cookies n' Cream ice cream (remind me of Bluebell!) http://www.recipezaar.com/126436 and this one is Chocolate Hazelnut (Nutella) Gelato http://www.recipezaar.com/179101 This is the strawberry cheesecake one http://www.joyofbaking.com/StrawberryCheesecakeIceCream.html Thanks, I'm enjoying my holiday so far!

Normally I would spend Saturday mornings having one music class and then have lunch at home with my husband by cooking a simple meal and then I would be off for an exciting time at the tupperware traiing business meeting. After that I visit my grandma and then come home rest and have light dinner then probaly watch a movie with my husband and then wrap up for the day and go to bed. I always look forward to Saturdays because of the tupperware training . Its fun. BUt yesterday I decided not to attend but just stay at home as the weather wasn't too good too...dark and rainy.

Are you a new tupperware sales rep? Is it a lucrative business for you? Yesterday our weather was overcast but never did get any rain. So today, I will have a lot of laundry to do. I like to hang mine out to dry so I don't use my dryer, to save money.

Wow, sounds like a busy schedule. Usually Saturday is my laundry day also, depending if it is sunny enough to hang the laundry out to dry. This week I had to wait until Monday to do it. Thanks for the response.

Hi kimbers. Greek cookies sound yummy. My son and I caught the bus to the library to return some books and dvds and to choose some new ones, we stopped off at EBgames to trade in his used games for more used games (good thing about that was i didn't have to spend a cent lol) and then we headed to Tysons Corner Mall for a movie, but it wasn't screening yet, so he had a play at the kiddies corner, then we ate lunch and headed home. Today we are heading off to the park for a picnic and play - bball and tennis.

How does EBGames work with their trade-in's? My girls have a couple of games they would like to get rid of and I'm trying to see if it would better to how right sell them or trade them in. What movie were you trying to see? Thanks for the response.

Thanks for the heads up about the Greek bakeries. God knows I need to know about more fattening food that tastes fabulous. I'm still trying to stay away from the Italian deli and all of its desserts. Plus the Panera's. That's just wrong to have so many beautiful baked goods in one place. Seriously though, thanks again for sharing. I wonder if we have a Greek bakery nearby...

Most weekends are spent cleaning around my house. With three kids it never seems to stay clean. We also went out for a little bit of a Saddle Club meeting, just to watch and meet a few new people.

Oh I hear you tammytwo! I have two girls and am constantly picking up after them. I didn't work today so I picked up my living room and dining room, I bet within 30 minutes, once they are home, it will look like a tornado went through. Thanks for the response.

I had a great Saturday morning. I went to visit the construction of my retirement home. It is wonderful as I anticipate the completion of it next year. My family and I will move there and have great lifestyle in the countryside, then.

I hope you didn't get hit too hard by the hurricane?! We are suppose to feel the remnants of Hanna on Saturday, so I am trying to get whatever laundry done now, since I won't be able to hang it out if it is raining. Thanks for the response.

I went to the mall and got a bunch of chores done... then I went for an amazing run! It was spectacular, I waited to the evening when it cooled, and there is something about feeling the speed that makes me feel great. Then I spent the evening watching movies with the roommate. Friday night was my crazy night, so I decided to let Saturday be kind of low key.
