to my bed!! Grrr. Some of you made have read my post on her birthing which included my leg. NOW she moved the kittens to my arm while I was sleeping last night...she even licked me like she licked them lol. I really do appreciate the wonder of all of this but I cannot keep them on my bed so what do I do??? She had moved one yesterday and my daughter told me so we find it and moved it back to the others but I guess Isis (momma cat) made up her mind and will do as she wants, hmmmmmm sounds like momma might be like her human lol :) Any suggestions here? I dont want to roll on them or be clawed all night but I dont want Isis to move them somehwere I cant find either.

I understand why you say you can't leave them there. However, you should feel HONORED that she trusts you so much. You might try having your daughter touch them a lot & she might move them again. I used to work at a trucking company & had a cat just take up with me that was pregnant. She'd sit in my lap while I was working. I made sure she got plenty to eat...even buying her canned food since she was pregnant. Well when the day finally arrived, she had them between my feet. Being at work, my boss didn't want to hear that I could do my job because "that dayum cat" (his words) had her kittens. I had to move around a lot that day so she moved them behind my desk. Several of the drivers came in & were messing with them so she moved them to God only knows where. They were gone for about 2 days when she moved them back under my desk near my feet. I do know your Isis is trying to tell you how much she loves & trusts you. As you have already seen, moving them for her doesn't work. You just need to make her understand why your bed is not a good place for them. A lot of activity around your bed just might help!!! GOOD LUCK!!!!!!

Fisrt of all a lot of activity around my bed would make ME happy lol but sleeping with my 4 yo just aint gonna let that happen!!! I cant stop lol here. If she touches them wont momma kill em? I have been keeping her to just looking in fear of this. I may tryto let her play with her toys on the bed though. Your boss is a jerk, no offense meant to you. People are so stupid sometimes. Thanks for replying to me :)

If touching them would make momma kill them, I wouldn't have had 2 kittens under my desk. I was raised that was all it took, but now it seems that momma cats don't kill as often as we were raised to believe. Isis may be used to your 4 year old so it might not work. I just know a lot of touching was when mine moved them. And YES my boss was a jerk. Reason I changed jobs!!!

I was wondering about the touching thing cuz my brother-in-law touched one and she hadnt killed them yet. I did too but only cuz they kept crawling up on me :) but I figured since she had given birth on me my scent wouldnt have bothered her enough to harm them. Did wonder though if the male scent wouldnt tick her off but guess not! My daughter touching them may not do it for the reason you mentioned but Jasmine, my daughter, is still too young and rough I think so I will keep her away just in case. I would hate for her to hurt one of them.

Does Isis have a bed of her own? Can you make her a comfortable bed in a box? Usually cats like to keep their babies in a dark place, so it's odd that she'd bring them up on the bed with you. She must love you lots! I'd get a box and put an old blanket or towel or two in it and place the kittens in myself to see if she would go there. Maybe put it under the bed, or in a closet that the door can remain opened or something like that.

I said in the post above just now that yeah I went and got her a basket just for this...big and wide enough but with a lip so they cant get out til they are big enough, thinking I was doing good but it didnt last but one night and now she has moved em to me again lol. I was thinking that maybe I should put MY pillow in the basket and try that?? Maybe leave the basket near my bed? I just dont know what to do truthfully. No she hated me up til the birth (you should read that story if you didnt lol) but she sure does seem to like me now. I woke up at 4 this morning with kittens clawing and clinging to my arm lol. I was like 'huh, whats going on?' til I woke up up. Then I did a quick count and they were all there so I was like 'oh great now what??' These kittens are so special to me and maybe Isis just wants to make sure that I pay attention to them?? I have been working hard to get a legit WAH job since Tuesday when my roomie got laid off and pretty much havent left the computer. So maybe she think I am ignoring them? I have never been through this since most of my cats have all been males....ask me about tomcatting and I can talk with knowledge lol.

My cat's mother did that to him when he was a baby. The mother just wants some alone time with the children. She wants to get to know them more before they leave her. They grow up very fast.

What you can do is get them a new wood made home in your room, so that they can stay there. In this way she will get a home and she will not come on bed..

they are very small what if you accidentally move when you sleep and hurt them? momma cat surely seems to trust you with her kittens but it's risky too I can only suggest that you would sleep close to the edge hopefully momma cat will move her kittens to the middle so either you or your daughter can't accidentally hurt them when you move in your sleep

Having tiny kittens at your place is so nice. I love kittens. There were few in my college and i used to play with them. It was so much fun!! I still remember those days i used to play with them. If you don't like the kitten on your bed you could make a nice small fluffy and soft bedding for them on the floor and keep all of them there including the mummy cat. I think they would love it over there. But frankly speaking i would love to keep a kitten on my bed next to me an go to sleep. Just be a little careful that you don't happen to roll over it while your asleep. They are too delicate when they are small.

I don't really have any suggestions. We have a momma kitty that has moved her babies numerous times and we tried putting them back into a cooler room to no avail. She wanted them somewhere that they wouldn't be seen or bothered. I am surprised your momma is moving them onto you. :)

Awwww...how sweet is that.....Get her a box or a basket...put something in it that smells like you..a shirt..pajamas...and put it next to your bed...That way she will have your scent on her babies and she will be near you and feel secure..... She loves you so much...to put her babies in your care.... Give them all a hug from Auntie Feona...hugs

hi cherkeygrl why not make a bed for them out of an old or unused clothes basket with a soft pillow in it to make it comfey and a comfortable covering on the pillow then introduce momma cat and her kittens. she will soon realize this is the right place for her.
