Do You Sing To Your Hairbrush?

Go on admit it when a song comes on and you know the words to, do you grab your hairbrush or whatever else is close at hand as use it as a makeshift microphone? Or do you prefer to start strumming on your chest and pretend you are the guitarist? When you start singing do you use any prop, a bottle of mayonnaise, a cardboard tube, a mop, a long, a part of your body? So go on you've done it, in the bathroom, in the bedroom, in the kitchen (hence the mayonnaise bottle!) I did it in the car once but I got a lot of stares, so I dropped my tool and continued singing without my prop So what do you use and go on what songs really make you strut your stuff and have you reaching for the nearest prop?

Oh my goodness Wolfie, No! I don't spend so much time brushing my hair anyway. I have got lotsa hair but it is just a quick brush to make sure I am properly groomed and that's it. Even when I want to sing, I JUST sing. No microphone whatsoever. Why do I need microphones when I can effortlessly project my voice?

I don't have much hair either so I don't usually grab a hairbrush, in fact I don't think I have a hairbrush! Being able to project your voice is a wonderful talent my friend so no gadgets for you then ;0)

I could have joined you, we'd have made a threesome for sure, but then I think we'd be banned From Poundland! I could always lay my cap at your feet and we could get some coins!!!

I used to do this a lot before, especially when everyone else had gone out.My favorite "shows" were Frank Sinatra where "I did it my way"(boy did I sound like Frank or what?.....well I guess or what) and Elvis, where I begged "Please dont step on my blue suede shoes".I would usually end up red faced when someone put in a sudden appearance, then it was not only Elvis who had left the the building. These days I am a little more braver and can do mini shows in front of live audiences of a few hundred people.LOL!!!!

Well Wolfie I have to admit when I hear the old 70's disco music especially Motown that is what makes me reach for that hairbrush.

I do. LOL! Or at anything that comes in handy. But bottomline, I don't really need props to start singing. He he he! I just sing whenever I feel like it even while taking the public transportation. Kinda strange, since I don't really have a good voice and I am tone deaf. Music is really an outlet for me. I listen a lot to it and sing a lot. I sing while cooking, cleaning, before sleeping, in the shower, in the office...wherever and whenever. Our life should be full of music.

Believe me my friend your voice can't be as bad as mine, I howl! I could never sing and at school I used to get funny looks and my mates used to dig me in the ribs because I had a terrible voice! But I still sing in the car provided I am alone!

I used to do this when I was little, lol. When my brother would play his heavy metal music really loud in his room, I would stand in front of the living room mirror and grab the closest thing to me, which was usually a bottle of hairspray that belonged to my sister and start lip singing to the song. I usually knew the songs by heart since my brother listened to them a lot, lol. :)

hi wolfie! you must really love singing! i do that too! ^__^;; i take an object and pretend that it was a mic. LOL so much for frustrated entertainers. ^__^;; but most of the time i pretend there's a mic standing in front of me and i'm singing like Mariah Carey with both hands going up and down or swaying in the air. LOL and sometimes, i would pretend i'm in a music video and i'm singing while projecting an emotion or dancing or something. :p and yeah, i pretend sometimes too that i am holding and strumming a guitar! ^__^;; and i was really awed when i saw in a Japanese tv series that there was a festival and one of the activities is the Air Guitar Competition. i thought air guitar was a specialized kind of guitar. it was really special alright. because it is invisible! LOL the contestant would choose a song and he would perform in the stage pretending that he/she is the guitarist. there was a contestant who performed an Elvis Presley song. he was good in pretending.

Hello my friend, Yes wolfie loves singing but trouble is it comes out more like howling I love singing but I can't sing for toffee! I have a terrible voice. Ah Elvis the great pretender, talking of Elvis there are chinese restaurants believe it or not where there is an Elvis lookalike and impersonator who sings Elvis songs in the restaurant, never been because I am not an Elvis fan but I love chinese and friends have been said it was excellent!

I can say I am a diva. Hahaha! I love to sing. So whenever I feel like singing in the bathroom, I grab my hairbrush and use it as a microphone. Sometimes I sing in the living room with it.

I love singing and I do not use anything when I do..Unlike when I was teen, I use to grab anything while singing and pretend it's a guitar and I am expert on it! LOL! And Until now, it's one of my frustrations since I never learned how to play! Anyway, that is good wolfie to have some props..LOL! I am sure when anyone will see you, you will help them flash a smile!

I'm more of a strummer myself. I don't actually pick up an item as a prop. I usually just make strumming motions as I stand and pretend to sing. Moving your body to the music is also important. The type of motions that singers usually make on stage.

I've used my closed fist, toothbrush, TV remote and hairbrush in lieu of a real microphone. My closed fist is the most reliable prop every time I feel like bursting into a song or to just go on a pretend-interview.

This is hilarious that I couldn't stop my self posting a response! I actually used to do it a lot when I was young and in my highschool days. Sometimes, you even do it without noticing...well, only after you notice that people are actually already looking at you! Since I stopped using hairbrush (literally)! I had stopped the habit. It's quite funny.
