I am sure that people from Pakistan visit the USA. They must get visas from somewhere. If I was you I would do a search on the Internet to see where the nearest embassy is. They will issue visas and so you stand a good chance of getting one. If I wish to visit a country and it requires a visa but the embassy is in another country I will pay an agent to get me a visa. That way I don't have to try there in person. Good luck. I have been to the USA three times on the visa waiver system three times and had wonderful times there.

Lol, I don't think what your friends said is true. We have plenty of visitors from Pakistan in this country. However, getting a visa is sometimes harder than you think. It has always been that way, especially if you come from a country where the desire to stay in the US after your visa has expired may be a great temptation. That was true already before 2001. They want to make sure you leave again. While for example Western European countries are thought of being low risk in that regard as the standard of living is very similar, other nations like many African countries like for example Etheopia are high risk in that regard. They are poor, who wouldn't want to stay in the US. They have a high risk of people not returning, if they go to sports events in other countries. Many European countries, and maybe even the US are unwilling to issue visas to Ethopians because they fear they'll simply try and stay. I'm not sure where your country falls in that regard, but probably somewhere in between. Therefore, you won't be able to get a visa form on the plane that you fill out and hand to the immigration officer like many Western Europeans do, you will have to contact the US embassy and find out what the regulations are for you to obtain a visa.
I suggest you contact the US embassy or a nearby consulate to find out more, before you pass judgement based on what some of your friends might have heard from somewhere else... Rumors have a way of taking a life of themselves. Somebody gets a visa denied for whatever reason and just spreads the rumor that nobody can get a visa because the US thinks Pakistani are all terrorists, lol. Heck, there may even be a political agenda behind spreading such rumors. Quite frankly, if they think you are a terrorist, they'll state so when they decline to issue the visa. It's a per case decision, not a generalization. Please contact the people who issue the visas to find out the truth and don't just rely on hearsay.
