Will your parents live to see your children grow up?

I certainly hope so but this is not something that I can control but I hope to just be there for them. As far as my children go I will tell you what I think.
My fathers parents lived to a vey old age, his father 76 when he died and his mother 78 years old and I think his mother losing her husband was just too much for her since they have been together SO long. Even though her father and mother both were diagnosed with diabetes I think the combination of his mother getting her legs amputated and losing her husband to bear and her spirit was ready to pass on.
My mothers side of the family has much more illness in the family, my one Aunt died with Alzheimers, she had a brother with liver disease, her father liver disease, another Aunt is having heart problems (but man is she a fighter, i remember hearing about her illnesses ever since i was young), then another Aunt having seizures her whole life and not being able to have kids.
I think the difference might be that my dads parents were farmers all the way until they passed away, even at 70 they still tended their garden and had a little vegetable stand and that is how I always knew them, his father into woodworking and always sending us home with wooden decorations he had made.
My mothers side of the family has a long history of alcholism and thats been the skeleton on the mens side but for the woman I still do not know and suspect it is mostly genetic. While my mom seems ok at 59, she does suffer from ulcers (most likely the excessive soda drinking), she has had skin cancer (she is very fair skinned and we spent alot of the time in sun with farm) which had to be treated with chemo, and she has had a breast tumor removed, my sister had to have her uterus frozen at 27, but Im pulling for my mother because she has always been a trooper and gets around good picking up the grandchildren from school and attending church every sunday (1 1/2 hrs back and forth).

Wow, you do not hear that too often anymore and it sounds like you have a fairly big family.
I know my discussion post is long but I just try to participate in my own discussions by not just commented on what other people said but answering the question myself if it relates to myself.
