Me and my man has taken on his family-farm. There is a lot of work needed before I can move there. It is a 7 hour drive away so it is taking a long time to get there. There is a pretty large area around the house. Hilly. Not much flat areas. The sun is there in the morning and until late afternoon. The climate is a warm scandinavian. Not icy cold - but there is a winter there with snow. I do not have much experience in gardening. I would like something easy and something with flowers and mild scents. I want it to be interesting all year round, and I do not want to spend many hours weeding or tending to plants. Do you have any ideas for me? Any favorite plants you'd like to recomend?

Probably your best bet is to talk or correspond with the people in the area to see what works for them. I did a lot of internet research about gardening in this area before we moved here, but once I got here, discovered that a lot of it didn't work here. I have learned much more from my neighbors - especially some of the older people who have been gardening here for years. I live in North Dakota in the U.S. and we have a short growing season so I have to watch the maturity dates on what I plant - nothing over 90 days and preferably less.

We've been working on the back yard - it was suffering from a definite lack of care and had grown up into a jungle. Thanks to some heavy duty farm equipment, we can now see something besides brush out the window!
