The world has many islands with white sand and palm trees. The first one that I went to was St Lucia in the Caribbean. Then going around the world I went to Hawaii and Fiji. When I went to New Zealand I went to French Polynesia, the Cook Islands and Samoa. I have been to the Seychelles and to the Maldives.
If you had a free trip which tropical island would you go to? Why?

First of all, I want your life. Well, at least the traveling part.
I would go to Bali, Tahiti or Maldives. I want my own overwater bungalow. And where the people are warm, welcoming and fun!

Traveling is my top hobby and it has been for the last twenty one years. Tahiti is a beautiful island and I stepped on to a black sand beach there. The Maldives is a land of Robinson Crusoe style islands for the wealthy tourists. I was called a FIT a fully independent traveler there and that country is not used to my sort of person. Whilst there I stayed in a bungalow on a beach, a room in a guest house in the capital for a couple of nights and in a hotel room. I couldn't afford to stay in an over water bungalow. I hope that you stay in one in the future. Good luck Saint Anne.

Thanks maximax for telling me a part of your Maldives experience. It is something to think about. Staying in an overwater bungalow is in my list of things to do in my life. It doesn't have to be in Maldives.

I've been to Hawaii (my best friend lives there), Samoa and the Cook Islands. All three Islands I enjoyed visiting especially the Cook Islands. My father is from one of the outer islands called 'Atiu' and I spent a week there for my Grandmother's unveiling of her headstone. It's untouched and unspoiled and that's why I liked it. There are many more Islands I would love to visit though.

Your best friend lives in Hawaii so that is amazing. I can understand why the author Robert Louis Stevenson moved to Samoa. I would too if only that was possible. Wow! It sounds lovely where your father is from. I love it when I see unspoilt places. I hope that you see all the islands that you wish to in your lifetime Maddy's Mommy.

St Lucia was my first holiday to a tropical place and I loved it there. The Caribbean Islands are so relaxing and charming. I would love to go to Jamaica because I have heard so many great things about it. I am sure it would be interesting for you to see where your biological father was from. Next door is Tobago an island I would adore with its rich bird life and stunning beaches.

Hello Maxi. That was a beautiful travel you made. The tropical island I am still looking forward to visit is Bali in Indonesia. I have been to Sumatra and Java islands in Indonesia, but haven't been to Bali yet. That would be exciting. Have you been to Bali yet ?
Have a nice day !

Hello Green Line. I haven't been to Bali yet but I think that it would be be just my kind of place. Indonesia has stunning beaches and an interesting culture. So far I have been to Sumatra and had an exciting time there seeing orangutans in the wild, getting to stand on the Equator and exploring a cave.
I would love to go to Madagascar and spend time the on Nosy Be beaches. It would be amazing to see the lemurs in the forests there. It would be relaxing to spend time on Bohol Island in the Philippines doing some snorkeling and viewing the Chocolate Hills. I would be excited if I visited Sri Lanka and saw Kandy and the palm fringed coastline. Have a wonderful day my friend.

If given a chance to travel in a great island for free, I guess I would choose Maldives. The country is known for its majestic beaches and its exotic location. I want to feel the sun out there and feel what life really is. Enjoying myself with the view and the sand is indeed a dream I wish to fulfill in the future..and if by chance the trip is for free, I would never think twice to pack my stuff and head to that place once and for all^^

I couldn't believe my eyes when I went to French Polynesia. The beaches there look powder white and perfect with gently waving palm trees. I saw the early morning mist rise off Moorea as the boat got near. I stayed in a cabin at a campsite. I had a boat trip that included snorkeling with black tipped sharks and sting rays. Wow!

To be honest I haven't any experience of being on a tropical island so I wouldn't know where to opt for, but I have heard that St.Lucia is wonderful but also very expensive and it's where the wealthy go! If I had a free trip I think any tropical island would be good for me. But I'd rather fancy that place on the Island which I mentioned before, Phuket? Does that count, the golden sand and the beautiful clear blue ocean wonderful.

Hello maximax. I would like to choose some of the big islands in the Philippines because to me the Philippines is a very beautiful country with more than seven thousand islands. Besides, it is closer to my own country, China. And it is easier to take a flight home. Thank you.

The best island I have been to is Tobago, West Indies. The water is not polluted and still fresh and green. We went on a boat ride around the northern edge. We snorkled and even got out of the boat and swam with some Stingrays. The stingrays were tame and we fed them fish, On the way back we saw flying fish and dolphins swam along with the boat. If you want to stay at a private hotel with a private beach try Arnos Vale Hotel, They also have a bird feeding time and everything is out in the open, We had a great time.

Hi
Islands hmmm? OK, lets see. My first island would have been Mauritius - I was a travel agent and went as part of a work trip to check out the hotels - what fun!
Next came Singapore and then Indonesia - I went to Jakarta and travelled down the length of the island by local train - what an experience that was. Then straight across to Bali and into a luxury hotel - they contrast was amazing!
I have also been to Hawaii - to the 'Big Island' and also to Maui.
I have been to Alcatraz - a prison island off San Francisco.
Next came my honeymoon on the 'Comoros' islands - what was heaven on earth.
I have been to the Greek Islands and travelled around a few of them by ferry, can't remember all of the islands we visited off hand, but know I went to Rhodes and a few others.
Finally (for now anyway), I am in fact living on an island at the moment - England!

I won't go any far because we've got more than 7000 islands here in our country for me to explore. I would love to go to Amanpulo in Palawan. It is really breath-taking. A paradise here on earth. The water's clear, the sand is so fine and the cottages are hidden in the lush greenery of the forest and it doesn't really look exploited. And maybe after I've traveled them all, I would love to visit Bora Bora. I've seen pictures and the it was so amazing. The coral reef and the atoll are so great. I would also love to travel to Phi Phi Islands in Thailand, it's the setting of the movie The Beach. The limestone formation can be seen all over the island and there's a sand bar connecting two islands.

I would love to choose Philippines.. because in that place, if you dont like one island, you still have 7,107 islands (during high tide) or 7,108 (during low tide) to choose from.. but among these tropical island, what I like is boracay... I like the pristine beaches and the sugar-like sand! Hope you can see it by yourself! Happy mylotting mi amigoS!

My first choice would have been Jamaica, but I went there a few years ago. So next I would pick Hawaii, or maybe one of the Caribbean islands.

I'd go to the Maldives. I planned to go there many years ago, but the budget didn't allow it, so I settled for Fiji, a place I had visited previously, but much less expensive.
