Are the breeds with a bad rep usually more bad against cats?

me and my hubby have been arguing this for years.. im a cat person but we have a dog and god forbid something were to happen to her i would want another big dog and i tend to like breeds that have bad reps such as rotties, pit bulls, akitas etc that people think are evil breeds because they think they are more amp to attack humans.. well i believe its all about how a dog is raised on whether or not they are violent etc but my hubby says he doesnt care.. well anyways my question is that would the more "problem" breeds be less likely to get along with cats? my dog is a lab/boxer (yeah i know she is made from 2 sweet breeds so not an go point to use in my argument lol) and she likes cats more than dogs.. heck little dogs scare her but cats (which are obviously small) she loves.. so if a big dog can fear little dogs but still love cats couldnt it be possible that these other breeds be the same?? if they were raised together from birth too??
i mean anything is possible right? but we have known some um cat killers dog wise which hubby uses as an example every time its brought up

I have German Shepherds, and I've heard that as a breed German Shepherds don't like cats. I've never owned cats, so I've never seen how my dogs are with cats. But I do know people who own shepherds and cats and they get along fine.
I really think it varies on individual dogs. Just yesterday I was talking to a guy who owned several rotties. He also owned cats. He was telling me about which of his rotties absolutely loved his cats, and which of his rotties he had to keep away from the cats. These were all dogs of the same breed, living in the same house and raised the same way. And some of the dogs really took to the cats, and others wanted to kill the cats.
I don't think "problem" breeds in general are prone to not liking cats. Most pit bulls I know absolutely LOVE cats! I think breeds with high prey drives (like hunting dogs) would be more likely to not get along with cats because of their instincts. But then again, I believe it really does depend mostly on individual dogs and not as much their breed.
Also, I've heard of dogs liking certain cats, but not others. So it really depends on the cats as well.
If you do ever get another dog, you may want to consider adopting a dog from a rescue group... specifically a rescue dog currently living in a foster home with cats. Then you'll have the best knowledge on how that specific dog gets along with cats.

i will get a stray since i dont believe in buying them out of shops but i would want as young as possible because we got an rescued one that liked cats and took it home and it tried to kill us!! it was horrible!! but the cat was perfectly fine lol.. but it was born and still was sickly (it was a nightmare.. humane society said she was healthy and then she got sick a few hours home and they paid for us to take her to the doc but they were crazy and she was in and out of clinics poor thing so maybe that was part of the problem)
