Last week we came home from vacation and my sister's momma cat had had kittens and she disappeared - we think she's died. The poor babies also died. My sister was heartbroken.
This afternoon i was over at my parents place and a neighbour called wanting to borrow something. So i said i'd run home and meet them there. I left right away only to get about 3/4 of a mile from moms house and notice something moving in the ditch. I stopped thinking it was millie. Not her.
However it WAS a little grey and white kitten. At the most shes 8 weeks old. Very friendly little thing. As soon as i picked her up she started purring. VERY starved though you can see every single rib and shes afluffy kitty.
So i turned around and took her to my mom's house. I took her inside the house (i had her in my sweater) and i said MOM come here. So mom comes over and i took the little thing outa my sweater and was like mom look what i found shes starving.
Mom took her from me and she fed her and She says they'll keep her if no one claims her. Her name is now mouse.
She was obvoiusly someones pet as she knows the litter box and is VERY friendly. I cant see how people can be so mean as to just dump a baby like that miles from town and not anywhere near food. Why not just find them a home or take them to the spca if you dont want them.

Kittens come here knowing how to use a litter box. Obviously somebody had played with it since it's so friendly. My Granddad owned a farm & every week or so a batch of little kittens showed up. Sometimes with the momma cat...sometimes NOT. I don't know how people can do that, but I think the babies are lucky because the azzhole wouldn't have taken care of them anyway!!!

Doesn't take long to get attached especially when you just lost one!!!
My cat of 21 years just passed away. I adopted 2 kittens the very next day as I was soooo lonesome. Before we even made it home, I was in love!!!

I always wonder the same thing? People do such horrible things to cats, and animals in general. People need to realize that without these animals we would be starved for companionship at times.

That is true, and I knew a woman in my neighborhood who had way too many cats in her house and the ASPCA had to be called in to clean the place out. It was pretty bad.

This is a cute story. X3 I love kitties and I'm afraid my homestead will be more like a kitty sanctuary. I have brains enough to get adoptees (or adoptors lol) fixed so we don't get overrun by strays. Unlike crazy cat ladies. XD lol I wont have a mouse, mole or rabbit problems with kitties around. I'm so glad the little one found friends to love her.

People can be crule, they just dump animals anywhere. They don't want to be bothered. I am so sorry for your sister losing her cat and the kittens, I know how it feels to loose a loving pet. But mouse was one of the lucky ones to be found and has a good home.
It depends where you live and how easy it is to find a place to put animals. I hav had the unfortunate pleasure of takin g care of a mamma kitty and after her litter got grown they had litters and so on and so on. Now I am working with the Shelters to fine them a good home. I have tried to do that on my own but living in a very small town there are already more then enough cats. I even got luvky and found a plave that nuters and spays for free because I am disabled and unable to pay for all of them. So you see there are some of us that are trying to take care of the spceial creatures God put on this earth for us to love.

I'm really sorry that your sister lost her mama cat and kittens. I also want to wish you the best of luck with Mouse! I love that name!! I have a cat (Callie), a kitten (little Sh!t) and a dog (little girl) who are all indoor animals. I wouldn't take nothing for my 3 babies!!
