Blessed to be a blessing...

I was checked with the message of our sunday speaker yesterday. He talked about how we are too self centered individuals before we were christians and a reminder that we should no longer be that too sefl centered as before for there are tasks that the Lord has prepared in advance for us to do.
So if we have tasks here today, it means that it has been prepared for us to do and we should do, to serve others is an opportunity and its been prepared for us to do.
Another day to remember that we can be a blessing and we are blessed to be a blessing to other and to love our neighbors as ourselves.

hi selmarq...that is true and good. Jesus came to be a servant, and a verse says he that is greatest among you, let him be servant of all. we all benefit from living like that.

Hi Zelmarq!
Well I think it is always a natural thing for a man to think about himself first. But this were change when we have known the Lord Jesus Christ who have taught us to love our neighbors as we love ourself. If we can look at the teachings of Jesus, particularly in the Book of John, we could clearly see how He (Jesus) emphasized the importance of loving our fellowmen.
We have seen the great blessings of God when we came to know His son Jesus, so I think it is also our duty to share this blessings to other people. So God has blessed us to be a living evidence of His great Love and blessings to our fellowmen.
So let us live not just thinking about ourself only but most importantly those who people who needs our help in whatever way we can.

Yes, its a reminder that we should keep in mind, there are still people who have suffered more than us and why are some of some still complaining and many of us still crave more.

you are certainly right.. but somehow, we fall short of the strentgh needed to do the specific task. somehow, we would also compromise to our self centeredness, our selfishness. but now that we are a new creation, time for a change.. it is a lifelong process anyways.. we really cannit assure that today we are a blessing, tomorrow would be another day, it could be that we are a blessing or a curse to someone else. either ways, the main point is to really chosse to be a blessing.. no matter how hard it is, chose it.. but God is faithfyl too, He understands our failures. too.. hehe.. and i have been a curse to someone, hehe.. well, nobody is perfect.. toinks//

Yes, thats true, there are so many things to be thankful for in this hat we have, though we may see people around us complain and not be contented and not even thankful for the brand new day given to them, they forget even the air they breathe is for free and that still they demand for more.
There's a message i received saying lets be thanful that even though we didnt have everything, but dindt nothing.

It is a good way to change our perspective, and remember that it is very sad not to have a purpose. I like the way you share your pleasant thoughts, and inspiring messages with us. Have a good week.

Hello Zelmarq. I agree that we are self - centered most of the time, it is man's nature. That's why Jesus commanded us to, "love our neighbor as ourselves." Our selves has become a reference, which means, without any effort at all we can't help but love ourselves. We even inflict others with pain because of the love for our selves. But when we get to realize that others do not revolve around us, we begin to see things differently. We start to see that everything we have and are capable of doing are there for us to freely give to others all that we have as Christ has willingly given Himself to us. After all, why are we called Christians in the first place? We are supposed to reflect Christ's likeness, we are therefore Christ's ambassadors. But what have we done? It is so sad that we have unconciously make Christ a tool to success, that in HIM we will be made victorious. It is so dreadful that a lot of people are after the bread, and not the giver of the bread. And we have hurt God deeply by doing that.
Ourselves, our character, our willingness to be broken and be made whole again by our Maker as He has always planned so He can use us, is the very blessing that we could share to the world. Then, the rest of the world will surely be blessed.

Yes, thats very true. Kuya Dave mentioned about our American dream, our desire of going there, but in America people there are not happy and not satisfied with what yhey have and that 67% of them are always complaining and they have not seen that materially speaking they have so much blessings. Its an eye opener for me, being able to appreciate what have, theres still a lot of people out there who suffer and others who done have food on their tables, it made me realize that I have a lot of things, people and situations to thank for.
Thank you for sharing my friend!

I just don't understand Christianity. All my family is christian but i just don't understand. How does god let people way before us determine how our lives turn out and also how did Jesus save us from sin? Sin is something we didn't create and also something were not born with? I don't understand why there's so many people in real f***** up situations for no reason. It makes me want to cry when i see helpless people made fun of because of who they are when they couldn't even choose who they wanted to be. I could go forever... I'm sorry if i got off topic

Of course in the worldy understanding we will not be able to fathom for we have limited minds. God is God and we will not have enough intelligence to dsicover all its mysteries, its all written in the Bible and I hope one day you will have time to read it.

Haze, i believe so in what you said. God's purpose for blessing us is to become a blessing to others, and if we do not fulfill that purpose, we will become very lonely individuals. That's why most people who are self-centered are usually lonely people. They do not reach out to others. I guess it's true when someone said that our vertical relationship (that is with God) is reflected in our horizontal relationship (with people.) If we don't know God, we will now know our purpose for living, and therefore, we will never know how to share life to others.
Thanks for reminding us of this, Haze.

Thats right pinks. We have to remember the great command our Lord gave us in the Bible, and the second command is loving our neighbor as ourselves.
