Our birthday may not be really different from other days of the year but it is those who remember to greet you who make it special. A sincere "Happy Birthday" makes the difference.
On my birthday, I'm giving my colleagues something to share with. One of the famous and really delicious cake in my place.
In your birthday, do you expect to receive gift?
Or it is you who give people time with you to celebrate your birthday by giving them a treat?

Happy birthday!
An ideal birthday for me would be spending it with those close to my heart and the less fortunate. I'd like to have a birthday party at an orphanage, or maybe at an animal shelter. It's homeless kids and animals that are close to my heart.
My cuzn once had his birrthday party at an orphanage and it was so much fun! The kids really enjoyed the games and the food.

First of all happy birthday!!! I hope you spend a great day with the ones you love and get showered in love and affection and of course some presents!!!
I´m going to sound a little corny here,but now that i´m married and with a kid I totally understand when my mom used to say,,,,don´t buy me anything,,,a hug and a kiss will do, when she saw us asking our dad for money to try to buy her a present. But I´m going to differ with her for a moment to say....if it were my birthday i would tell my husband and kid,,,don´t buy me anything just behave well today that´s the biggest present in the world to me now!!!!

well, I wanted to receive gifts on my birthday, but of course, I am not expecting at all.. what's important is their presence.. and I always celebrate my birthday. I do go to church to thank God for another year he gave to me.

Thanks for the greetings. I may be really generous specially when I really have something to give. It is unexplainable why giving really gives us a good feeling.
Receiving gift makes you feel better but it is the thought that someone really cares is already a big gift.
Thanks for reminding me giving thanks to the Lord - the One whom I really have to give thanks to...

Happy birthday!!! I don't usually expect gifts but I at least expect them to remember its my birthday. If special days for you are remembered by your friends,it means that you are special to them.But, you know,a gift won't hurt =P

Yes. As the old saying says, "It's the thought that counts." You may not expect a gift from friends and relatives but at least expect them to remember your birthday.
It doesn't when you don't receive a gift.
But it does hurt when you didn't receive a greeting. :)

well, i do not especially celebrate my birthday. Only when i was young, my family used to celebrate with me. And when i got older, i have neglected my birthday.

My case is opposite to yours. My birthday is much more celebrated as I get older. Anyway, as we grow older we become more mature and we enjoy celebrating other's special occasions instead of our own.

This coming birthday of mine I was planning to go out of town with my girlfriend. It's just me and her. I just want us to be alone together. Talking about the future together,making a better life. Our family is the one which can really make us happy on our birthday. I may be away from my biological family right now but friends as my secondary family makes it happy also.

I expect to receive gifts. I am not sure what though as my parents have not really asked me what I want. I have asked for a car, but they said no and other than suggesting a camera, which they also have said no to, they have not asked. So I expect very little this year really, but I do expect something.
I am hoping to go out and celebrate it and have a good time as I haven't done that in a while.

A BELATED HAPPY BIRTHDAY on my bday, first of all , i go to the temple. there i pay my respect to the lord for giving me such a wonderful year. for all that he has done for me, the success, everything. then in the evening, we have a mini feast and all my friends have a gala time...

gifts are not important as long as they remenber to greet you on your birthday and also spend time on your birthday will be the best gift someone can give for me..the happiness that we have shared on my birthday that no one can ever give to you,,your happiness on your birthday that only happen once in a year...HAPPY BIRTHDAY to you..god bless..

First of all, happy happy birthday! Hope I can have your cake too. LOL! If it is my birthday, what I usually do is to go to Church to give thanks for living another year. I do not expect gifts but it is also good to receive one. :-) But I celebrate my birthday not on the day itself but after the day.

i'm actually used of people giving me gifts on my birthday and when i started to work i do treat my family and friends a little get together as my birthday falls on one of the public holidays in my country. but for 5 years now, since i left my country (for a greener pasture 
i don't celebrate it the way before and i never expect a gift either.

anyway, happy birthday! you are celebrating your birthday wonderfully.
for my, today is just another day. the only person greeting me is my girlfriend (which live in a long distance place - so we won't be able to celebrate it). i am happy none of my friends seems to remember my birthday. i am not a 'party boy'. i have no mentality of celebrity. i cannot bear all people celebrating me and making my as a center of attention.
