I sold Avon a couple years back.I quit after 1+ years because of non paying customers and having to pay for all sales tools. Everybody wanted a book, hardly anybody wanted to buy without demos, any samples, one of every color please! The list went on and on.You had to have a order in every 2 weeks to stay in the game.I was my best customer because I had to pay out more than I made because of the demos, books, samples etc.Anybody else in this boat or anybody else sink the boat like I did?

I sold it too, it was really pointless, I made almost nothing and put more into all the samples and stuff then I ever got paid. So now I'm working with another business where I actually get paid and can move up in the ranks quickly! In 4mo I was making about 5-600 a month and it has gotten better as time goes on. Plus the lady who signed me up with Avon I met her one time and then never heard from her again! What kind of team support is that!

My mentor was the same.As long as she made off me,she didn't care if I made it any further. She would email me if I didn't put my orders in at least 3 days early.God forbid I miss a campaign. She wouldn't help me get into leadership or even tell me when meetings were.

I sold Avon products part time when i was working abroad... but i did not encounter the problems you had... and Avon was quite popular in the area where i worked because there were not that many great cosmetics and other stuff available in the NEX...
Money was great... and payment was always given upon the delivery of the item... although some would request that they pay at the end of the month... and i would always let them... or else... i can never order from me again... and that they did not want to happen...

Well, so far I've had a fine time with Avon. - I'm an avon rep. and I like it. it gives me something to do. - On the other hand, if I were busy, working another job, going to college while trying to maintain my home, husband and child. that would be a different story ;-)
I have the time, and I guess I'm just good at it haha..

I sale avon now and I take all money up front me and my cousin who also sales split costs for books and samples so its not that bad. Plus I dont allow my customers to pick samples I go through the next campigns book early and look for stuff that I know will sale get a few samples staple them in the book and hand it out. As far as having someone cheat me that hasnt happened yet if a customer looks fishy I wont place the order until i have a check in my hand. As far as sales tools they dont cost that much plus they offer websites now and its an awesome thing when someone in china can order from me and have it shipped directly to them!

I am an Avon repesentative at this time, and I my own best customer, like you I pay more out then I make. But, I love Avon products and I am hooked on them.
Avon also supports Cancer resourses and donate funds for victims of domestic violence. Avon empowers woman all over the world, and for me that is another reason to be associate with Avon. There training opportunities are awesome as well.
