du iphones are for rich?

why do the g-network in the phili. offers the iphone3g at a very high cost? isn't it that the apple company offers it for only $200 and even below for the 8gb that is a lot cheaper if converted to peso? are they taking advantage because they are the only company that has been authorized by Apple?
