We have been discussing the benefits of having friends on mylot recently. In the other hand, we also mentioned why we don't care about friendship and make it cheap on mylot by adding so many members to our friends list everyday. So far so good. There is no problem with adding friends on mylot as most of people (and I) strongly believe that this action will help you get more attention to your posts as there will be more people seeing them. but I have started feeling there is also a disadvantage of adding friends too. you know, the population of mylot is growing so fast here, and so our friends list, and so the number of discussions started each minute. As we already see, there are many discussions being burried by the new ones without getting enough responses. What is the reason? : the number of recently started discussions and the high frequency of that. So, I believe the same thing applies for our friends too. If you add everyone to your friends list, even the ones whose discussions are usually not very interesting to you, you will have the same problem as above. The people in your friendlist who start interesting discssions, will have their discussions burried by others which are started by your "bad" friends. I also have addded so many friends here and I am started experiencing this thing slightly. What's your opinion?

I have to disagree with this one. I believe that if a discussion is good enough, it can never be buried because attention will be drawn to the good ones, no matter how many are above it. Also, if people do like me, and have a folder in your e-mail where all discussions and responses go directly, you can take your time and read each discussion, and decide whether you want to respond or not. There is a disadvantage to adding each and every person that requests your friendship here. It opens you up to spam. When I get a friend request, I like to view their profile and the discussions they have started and responded to. If there are a lot of discussions about making money, I tend not to add them. Not that I don't want to make money, but these people usually are the ones to send massive amounts of links from their programs that they would like to you join. I am the type person that likes to discover a program for myself, and evaluate it before I join. Don't just force it down my throat.
