Which would you give up? Television or Radio.

If you had to give up radio or television, which one would it be? I think this would be tough choice for some. Even though I like the television I could give it up if I had to. I like to watch but sometime find myself watching too much and usually the same old thing or re-watching movies I have seen several times before. I would choose the radio because I enjoy music much more, and I can also do other things when the radio is on, while the television can restrict what I do. Radio has many different types of music and programming but not as diverse as the television but I would still pick the radio. How about you?

I would have to say radio being a National Public Radio listener I couldn't imagine being without it because I would never get that level of information merely from the television and I love how they give you first hand accounts and personal stories. I hope to get Satellite radio really soon but that poses a problem because with the TV we get like, I think its 500 channels, just like satellite radio it would be really hard for me to choose one thing to listen to but having so much at my fingertips, ill take it anyways. You know one show I like is the John Tesh radio show, it has music and tips about different numerous things and they even give you factual information but I listen to that when Im down at the local laudromat, radio is good because you can move with it and TV's I have to move around it which can get annoying. I listen to the TV just like a radio, I spend little time actually watching on the couch but listening to it from other rooms while Im picking up around the house or tending to my babies.

I have listened to the John Tesh show on occassion and have found some of the information useful. I also like listening to the news and talk radio as well as the music. I think when you get the satellite you will find many fun things to listen to. It may take a while to sift through all those channels. I usually have the music on while doing things around the house, sometimes through the radio, sometimes through my itunes and sometimes through the television. thank you for the response. Have fun with your new satellite radio, I'm jealous.

I think that i would live without the radio, the reason being that you can learn a lot from television. it is extremely informative. also, a television has more impact on you than a radio does as you are using both your ears and eyes while watching television, but it is not the same case with the radio as you use only one sensory organ, that being your ears. so, the television would have a greater impact on you than the radio!!! another point to be noted here would be that the television also plays music which i simply love and which i cannot live without!!! so i will be able to hear my music as well as see the video as well. what more could i ask for.

I often put the music on the TV and listen to that while doing stuff around the house and I love it especially the adult alternative genre. I took that into consideration but still like the radio more. I can be mobile and do not have to stay at home to listen. I love watching TV and it would be hard to give up but I like the radio best. When I was a kid I had a radio and would at the time listen to the pop station and at that time in the early 60's there were not that many rock and roll or pop stations. We did not have a television and one day my father brought home a TV for us kids to watch. It was great, but just after a few days I went back to my radio listening to the music and DJ's. I think my dad was a bit disappointed I didn't take more interest in the tv and paid much more attention to the cheap transistor we had at the time. I also like talk radio hearing the news and different viewpoints on today's issues. Thank you so much for your input. Have a wonderful day!

I know, and I access these channels quite often. But if I had to give up one it would still be the television that would be gone. Thank you for your response.

I don't have a television for the last 8 years but can't live without a radio. Music makes me happy and I never feel lonely. Plus radio helps me do many other things along with it. I mean I can listen to the radio and cook, do my work, do my household chores. Television restricts whereas radio gives freedom

Music makes me happy too. It tends to make me dance and sing a long and it is hard to be sad when you are dancing or singing. I also like getting the news and talk from the radio. Thank you.

I will definately choose radio because I work in a radio station. I think radio is one of the coolest thing wherein it entertains you and along with it you can also work. So it does not stop you from working while having fun. You can always study while you are listening to radio. So radio rocks!!!

I think it would be fun to work in a radio station. Do you work on or off the air? I love the radio for music, news, traffic, DJ's, talk and commentary. I get alot of information of the artist that I listen to from the DJ's and other programs. I like the studio sets as well. Thank you so much for your comment.

I think I would most happily give up the television. I do not find much of interesting stuff on television. I prefer listening to music.

Me too. I do like a few shows but limit my time on the television. If I spend too much time in front of the television I feel like I have wasted time where I could have been doing something else more fun and productive. Sometimes I will catch myself watching a movie I have seen many times before, silly I know. Sometimes it is good to relax but I could give it up if I had to. Really enjoy the radio as I have it on in the car, can get stations over the internet, have it on at work etc. Thanks for the response.

A lot of the news reporting is always on the negative side and it tends to pull you down, even on a good day! I keep up on what is going on in the world but try not to dwell on the negatives.

I gave up watching television severaal years back. I don't have one and I never watch one. I could not do without my radio though. I rely on it for news, information, reviews, drama, comedy, topical discussions, documentaries and listening to phone in discussions. Maybe I am lucky because I live in a country with good radio stations that provide all of these.

For me, I would rather give up radio rather than TV. Although, both are important to me, but I am more willing to give up radio because if I really want to listen, I can still listen using TV or any music device. And also it's more entertaining if I can see it visually than just listening to it.

It's easier for me - I'll give up radio. I have the TV on, when I'm reading or working at the computer. I therefore, have the option of either watching or listening to the shows and news, which I can't, with a radio! We have MTV shows , or if I really want to listen to music, then I'd pop in a DVD.

I would give up television as it is a complete waste of space at my home,as i can hardly find some time to watch any programs. All the more even if i can find some time to watch TV i get engrossed in one task only and can't do multitasking. Listening to radio helps me in multitasking whereby i can do all my stuff with the gadget on. :-)

I can have access to radio while doing most things, exercising, walking, working etc. I find if I watch too much TV I feel like I have wasted my day. I do enjoy it but limit myself, just enjoy the radio more. Thank you for the response

it is not easy to give up televisionbecause it is full of actions .actions are more impressive than hearing .radio only work for hearing .to see television is the wastage of time becase man have to sit idle to look at the varius activities but with the help of radio he can do his work side by side.the good music broadcasted by radiois helpfull to workand it increase the effience of work because the music can caste spell on man. but on the otherhand the horriale scene of the television make the life painfull.so itis better to give up the television instead of radio.

The use of the Internet would be hard and now with the wireless it is so much more accessible. You can listen to radio on the internet and from all over the world and you can also view TV and movies too. Thank you for the response.

I think I would give up the radio. First, I am not used to have a radio. I even don't have a radio at home. I prefer the television because you can see pictures and videos while listening to them. On tv, you may be able to use and exercise your senses.

I wouldn't mind giving up both the things you mentioned. Lolzz.. The reason being hardly watch TV say may be 1 hour in a day and I never listen to the radio as I have enough songs on my hard disk to listen too. However if you had framed your question regarding computer i would say never Hehehe.. The reason I hardly ever watch TV or listen to the radio is because whole day long sit on the computer and I'm addicted to it.
