How to be brave and face the odd situations

In our life we come across different type of situations. In some cases sometimes we are not able to handle the situation and feel scared. It has been said that fortune favours the brave. But can we become brave at our own and that too without help of any other person.Generally every human being have inherent qualites to face any situation. please comment that how can we become brave and face tha challenges of life?

interesting topic. There is a saying: "Every one is afraid of something." e.g. an average child may be more afraid to let his parents down and therefore become a top student in the process ... There is a saying "Successful people are those whose dreams are stronger than their fears." Please share your views. Cheers:)
