Either talk in circles without ever really giving any straight answers; or if you REALLY want to have some good natured fun with them then keep filling their heads with the most bizarre and wacky answers imagineable! With the second option they may just end up not asking so much for fear of what they might hear! lol. I am not saying that you should be disgusting or rude, just play around a little! For example, you are just about to go out shopping and they come over to ask where you are going..... Tell them you are going to replace Tendulkar as batsman at a 20/20 match or to wash a few taxis! Then sit back and enjoy the puzzled looks!

*L* Sounds like you have some experience in this area, James. Hubby can make up some of the most bizarre stories, laced with a tiny bit of the truth. I hate to think what the neighbors are thinking when I walk out of my house after he has talked to them.

I once actually told my neighbours to look into their own backyard first before looking into others lawns. I feel irritated when people do that and tell them directly and politely to look into their own affairs.

It isn't always easy to deal with neighbors who ask one too many questions. I think that a lot of people deal with neighbors who might be like this. I myself try to be evasive and ambiguous if I can. As a rule I don't like to talk about too much personal business especially if it comes to financial questions. I don't like feeling put on the spot. I just try to sway the conversation another direction. Best of luck!

There are 2 ways - either just ignore them or bug them up so much that they themselves repent on being inquisitive. :-)
