For me apart from doing the kangaroo jumps which are quite funny and the stalling which i think everyone has done when first learning to drive?
Was with my ex husband, was letting me get some driving lessons in and of course was a normal car, so no brake on passenger side.. Was going around this corner but the corner was quite big and sharp, i went at it too fast, he was saying BRAKE BRAKE i say i am trying to... oops my foot was on the accelerator instead, the car went around it on 2 wheels leaving skid marks on road haha
That shock me up for a while afterwords, my heart pounding.. I think he left finger dents in the dashboard as well haha
Done anything as wild as that???

Well for me my mom was teaching me how to drive. So we we driving down the street and my mom seen a sign for an estate sale and wanted me to turn down the side street where it was at so she could look at it. So instead of slowing down like you shoud when driving I gave it the gas and took the turn on two wheels. Almost took out some cars on the side street. Needless to say after that number my mom didnt feel like going to any estate sales after that.

I really thank god that till now, I have not yet met with any major accidents. I did a small accident in which my car bumped into the front car but that was due to sudden brake. Thank god no damages were done to either of the cars. It was a pretty safe accident. I thank god for helping me during the time of crises and help me write the same response years after year.

i not had bad accidents, but was one time in London was waiting at traffic lights and a car behind coming at speed didn't stop and went in back of me, jolting the car forward into car in front which had a tow bar.. The guy behind said his foot slipped of the brake and when see his shoes, i could see why, he was wearing great big high heeled boots.. obviously with no grips on souls of boots.. We can be the most safest of drivers but end up in bad accident due to others.. Was nothing could do, sandwiched between 2 cars..
thanks for response and take car

Hi Mandy! ahahaha! he sure was hangin' on tight. It does happen to most who learning to drive. I got the brake and accelerator mixed up as well. I had one experience though when I was still learning how to drive years back. I was with a driving school and my car had the brakes on the passenger side so the instructor could brake at anytime when needed.
It was actually the 2nd hour through the lesson when the instructor told me to finally drive on a busy highway with buses. I was so excited. The moment I made that right turn onto the highway, I immediately saw a bus to my right. In my excitement, I forgot to bring the wheels back straight and I continued going right and drove into the back of the bus. The instructor asked why I didn't straighten it up. I said, I was looking at the bus. It didn't happen again though. Take care and stay safe!

Now that is a very funny story.. i am crying with laughter here
thats like a child that is too much concentrating on an animal other side of road, crossing over and not looking at cars going by.. Mind you i have to say, i have had close ones like that in lessons too..
looking at the bus hahahaha..
like you, it never happened to me again either, with getting brake and accelerator mixed up, it certainly put the wind up me that's for sure
thanks for making me laugh and take care behind the wheel hehe

Well... I hit the sidewalks and although it was funny for me, but for my mom it wasn't funny at all... I am grounded because I learned to drive the car without her permission lol. But that's okay, I am having my own driving license now...

oh yes, i have gone over the sidewalks too, i sure that is also common amongst learners many times id be told, you have the whole of your side of road, and id be hugging too much to the right or too much to the left lol
When went to change gear id slightly loose control of the car haha..
well being grounded was worth it, you have driving license for life

hehe maybe think it Flintstones car? lol
i think though it is mean for friends family to tease. Not everyone has confidence to drive and it is scarey.. i remember after i past my test, i kept looking at the car parked up, trying to gain the confidence to get in it and drive.. That first time driving alone is very frightening cos you know if anything goes wrong, there is no one beside you to help you.. I get nervous driving to new places, and most people do. just some people can hide the fear..
i am pleased you gained the confidence :) i have to keep building mine up you know..
thank you for sharing that, and drive carefully

I have two that I think are good ones-
When I was learning to drive a a speed my mother, a friend and i were on a hill in traffic. I started to roll back and did that kangaroo jump as you all it. Well after about three tries I started to laugh as did my friend and my mother. I was laughing so hard I rilled back into the car behind me. That guy started laughing too. Some cars went around me, making us laugh more. I think we sat through three lights before I got off that hill.
I was teaching my oldest to drive. I had a crown vic, a rather big car. I had to pick up a check from one of my husband's clients and let my son drive me there. The parking lot was in front of their office and it was raised up. There were two trees in front, then a deep bank about six or seven feet down from the parking lot. Beyond that a ditch separated the lawn and sidewalk in front of the office(which was a model home So my son steps on the gas rather than the brake... we were air born, went between the tress and landed in the ditch between the sidewalk and the lawn of the office. The clients watched the whole thing happen!

oh how funny.. laughing is a nervous reaction to an embarrassing situation but can just imagine it, those kangaroo jumps are funny, always made me laugh but not my driving instructor..
Where i live is some very steep roads, need a fairly powerful car to get up it, and horrible if in traffic jam on it, NOT good for a learner lol As for second scenario.. oh my, seems most of us at times have got brake and accelerator mixed up, but think we are more nervous when being watched and then mistakes happen more . Guess clients were like and then hehe..
thanks for sharing, made me giggle... take care

My friend had just bought a second hand red Mustang (i forgot the model, it was a Firebird or something like that) and offered me the wheels. I had no license yet but since we're just driving inside our family compound it was safe. And stupid too. Because the road was small, and being short (5'1") i could not reach the brakes, so i just stirred left and right until i drove through the wall of our seminar house. It was a scene straight from an action movie, with smokes and shower of cement powder. I could not move, i was in shock. I paid for the house's damage which cost only about 500 pesos for the hollow blocks and my friend spent about 2 thousand pesos for dashboard damages. It was one crazy drive. Until now i could not get myself in front of the wheels. And that traumatic experience happened nine long years ago.

wow that been good to have got on camcorder for some tv show, and could have made money out of it.. but seriously, that would scare anyone to get behind the wheel again, well you found your method of braking thought you do a dukes of hazzard stunt yea hehe..
I glad you got over it now and can maybe laugh about it now..
thanks for sharing your wild driving experience and drive safely

I'm useless. When I get the car going I'm absolutely fine, and can control it well round corners and the like, but when I have to use the clutch it stalls. It takes me a couple of goes to even get the car to move!
I think it's because I'm nervous about crashing the thing, and I know that I shouldn't worry, but I can't help it sometimes!
@mandykaren (2040)

you not useless, you have much power that you alone is controlling, takes time to build the confidence, and once you see you good driver, it get easier
sometimes when came to big corner, it was just panic, thinking of too much around you and changing lanes checking for cars and so on lol
i was like that, nervous of making a mistake and feeling stupid and embarrassed lol
I think after past test, there should be a further plate we should display on car, after the L plate. to allow other drivers to know the person is a new driver.. That way others be more considerate and understanding to stalling and so on..
thanks for sharing and drive safely

The worst thing i did when i was learning to drive a vehicle is when my car tank run empty, i filled it with diesel instead of petrol.I thought then that petrol engine will run also if you put a diesel i never thought that it will damage the whole engine hehehehe. My mother was so angry then,She called our mechanic to do the draining of all diesel that i put in the tank. That was the big mistake i did..So sorry mom..

i expect your mum wasnt to happy with you for that hehehehh

I had a friend once who was going to do his driving exam the next day so a friend of his was saying just for the fun of it he should knock someone over. come exam day he was driving and a pedestrian crossing was up and someone just ran across the pedestrian crossing and my friend hit him. When he got out to see if the person was ok it was his friend, they both looked so shocked and then burst out laughing.

he must of pretended to get run over.. i seen people do that, or at least known people to smack the car with hand and pretend to be laying there injured lol can be quite scarey for driver to think hit someone lol mean trick to play especially on a test..

I was taking my driving test and made a left turn without even getting in the turning lane. Needless to say, I failed my test. I took it again and passed. I am probably one of the ditziest drivers on the road.

everyone makes silly little mistakes, even after passing.. Much we need to think about and concentrate on.. Roundabouts was always my fear, i hated them lol especially the really big ones with many lanes, was confusing
