I quit cable about a year ago {long story} & have been watching network tv w/ rabbit ears ever since-now this thing has been on tv how you'll NEED a converter box by feb '09 so I went on & got mine. The thing is terrible! The channels digitally break up the only thing that comes in perfect & clear are the weather channels. I guess now I'll need to buy an outside attenna so this stupid converter box will work properly by feb until then I live with static on my channels & bypass the box lol Have you made the switch? How's yours workin out?

Yes we did and some of the channels work and others say that we have to get a better signal. I think about 3 channels come in really got but the others are just black screen with the message that we need a better signal. We live in the woods and there are a lot of trees in the area. I thing that has something to do with it too. I thought that is what the box would be for but I see that I was totally wrong. The rabbit ears work on some of the channels but not all of them. Moving the ears around helps some but not for all of the channels. That is a pain for sure. But without a better antenna for outside then the inside will be on better that what we are getting at the time. Have a good one.

I have 2 of the boxes on the TVs in both bedrooms. Now I bought electric top of the line attenaes (sp) for both TVs and the reception is good. Try that instead of rabbit ears. they run about $20 for decent ones. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

Thanks w, I'll have to try that-it'll be a whole lot easier than putting up one of those outside attenna's. +'s |:)

Like you I don't have cable and I'll have to get one of those converters also...could it be though that maybe the reception is so lousy since the TV signals AREN'T digital yet???? They don't switch until February..I haven't gotten my converter yet...and I sure hope I don't have to get an outdoor antenna since I live in an apt. building and don't think my landlord would appreciate my having one installed.

Hey pw, I'm gonna try what w said & if you're gonna wait until the last minute to get yours_I'll keep you posted on how that works out. I hope it works b/c I'm gonna hate buying an expensive antenna then having that big ugly thing hooked to the side of my house plus it's gonna be a hassle putting it up since I don't own a ladder so I guess I'll have to stand in the back of my truck lol-keeping my fingers crossed on this upgraded indoor antenna

i'm not sure, but could it be that you're getting such a poor picture because the television signals haven't been changed over yet? and you don't need your converter boxes until the switch is made? like i said i'm not sure, i have digital cable, just a thought.
