Have you ever been taken for someone famous?

This is what happened to me one day.
My girlfriend and I went to the local bar that we frequent. I was wearing my ballon-sleeved (pirate-like) shirt at the time.
As I was playing pool with some of my friends, suddenly this guy came up to me and asked me my name. I said that most people call me Johnny D. The man grabbed my hand, shook if fiercly, and had a big smile on his face, like he had just won the lottery. He asked for my autograph. I thought it was a bit strange, but because I'm the welcoming sort, I obliged. The guy left beeming from ear to ear. My friends and I thought it was weird, but continued our game.
When I returned back to the table where my girlfriend was sitting, she was laughing histarically. I said to her: "Do you know what just happened to me?"
She said: "Yes! I sent that guy up there. I told him that you were Johnny Depp in cognito." Unbeknownst to me, I had no idea that this was her doing. She's a kidder alright! But I'm just as bad. I figured the guy took me for someone else, and played it to the hilt anyway.
Truthfully...in a way...I DO look like Johnny Depp. (My avatar doesn't do me justice.)
Has anything like this ever happened to you?

A couple of drunks took me for Meatloaf one night. I guess that was a good queue to cut my hair and lose some weight.

Nope! LOL! No one has ever thought I was a famous person. I would not have known how to re-act. I am really glad that it never has happened to me.. Like I said I would not know what to do or how to re-act.
Love your girl friends sense of humor though! It would have been VERY funny to watch!

Yeah, we really had a great time with that.
And of course, we both played it up to the hilt.
It's great knowing that I'm going with someone who's just as crazy as I am...
sort of makes me feel normal in a way....

Not really a world known star but I've been mistaken for a football/soccer player before at a health club. Funniest part was the guy who mistook me was an assistant manager at another local club. I went a long with it as I didn't want to embarass him.
