Now That the Olympics Are Over, What Are You Watching on TV?

The Olympics were a huge success for companies like NBC. According to Nielsen media Research, during the week of August 18-24 (2008), the Closing Ceremony was #1 with 27.8 million viewers (US only?), and the next seven slots in the top twenty for that week were Olympics as well - ranging from 16.8 to 26.6 million viewers each evening. There was much talk about how sad NBC would be when the Olympics were over, but there was also some talk about how the Olympics and the incredible number of viewers have proved that network television is not past its prime and still has hope for success, given the right kinds of programming. So - now that the Olympics are over, what are you watching on television? Currently, we are in the midst of presidential election season, and are also keeping an eye on hurricanes... What are you watching on television? (Or have you stopped watching television altogether?)

It was kinda sad see the Olympics end. But, now that it's over I've been watching things like Big Brother, America's Got Talent, Movies, News (trying to keep up with the hurricanes) Looking forward to the start of my favorite shows in a couple of weeks.

I am like you. I was disappointed at the end of the Olympics. (Learning more about China was fascinating to me.) And now, while I am waiting for my favorite shows to start again - The Biggest Loser, Survivor - I am watching the news that is developing on the hurricanes and politics. The weeks will soon pass, and the favorite shows will be back on the air again! Thanks for your reply!

You have a good habit! And you are correct, much time can be wasted watching television. We are interested in politics currently, but the political events are televised late in the evening! (This is interfering too much with the time that I should be sleeping... ) Reading a book and working for improving yourself is a much better activity than watching television. Cheers to you, too!

Now that the Olympics are over, I am watching the US open from Flushing New york. I think there is one more week left, it started on August 25th. I enjoy watching the great tennis tournments. I really do not get to see a whole match, because my husband has the remote, and is constantly changing the channel.. I just asked him to turn back to the tennis channel, the game was already underway.

You have traded one set of world class sports tournaments for another... (or maybe it was just a smooth transition from one to the other...) The great remote debate! That's tough when one person wants to watch one thing, and somebody else is not as interested - or is simply more interested in flipping channels... Thanks for replying to my discussion!
