Dsl and gaming and talking to friends

I have Dsl and every 5 minutes(varies on some days) its like it just stops for 15 seconds but then comes back up. But it never really disconnects, but it does disconnect me however from my games if im playing them or when im talking to a friend of YAhoo messenger with a mic.
anyone feel my pain?
