Why do you think many students hate Math?

I have no idea. I love it. I think it is mostly because it isn't taught well. If it is taught well, then I think students would realize that it is really fun to discover, and learn, and it needs to be taught as something that is interesting, and not something that is boring. I think too many teachers in early schooling themselves hate math, and it shows.

I really dont like math half the time i dont get it or its just really hard and its also really boring, i also tink math sucks since half the things they teach you after you learn Fractions you wont use in real life, the only people that would use alot of the stuff after that would be people who wanna be teachers, scientists, etc. but i might not like it cuz i dont get it? I dont know :) I just dont like it.

I don't like Math maybe because my teacher in Math is not that good to explain and make me understand the process. I hare the subject.. but when I figured out it myself I find it not hard. That happened when I was already teaching. My principal wants me to teach Math instead of switching the subject with the other teacher. I was force to learn it.. and I find it easy when I do it myself analyzing the problems and come up with the solutions.. I am just prejudice with my math teachers before because they are too fast and don't explain it well. I do it slowly and clearly to my students because I know how it feels when you are frustrated with the teacher. The best thing is to work in groups with the fast learner as the leader. Students learn better with their peers.

Haha, I hate math too. I think a lot of people don't like math just because it conflicts with their common interests. I mean, if they are a more artistic person, a lot of times they end up not liking math. This isn't true in all cases, but it seems to happen a lot.

I think they hate math because it challenges you more than the other subjects. You have to think more. I hate it myself.

I think many students hate maths because it requires the use of brain which most of the students don't like and Maths has a lot of problems which makes a student to hate it.

I believe that math really isn't taught well. Not that I could teach it any better, but I think my former Algebra II math teacher is proof that math isn't taught well at all... lol. As for me, I'm currently majoring in Computer Science, and I happen to HATE math....but I think I can overcome my hardship and hatred of it.
