My oldest is going to be ten. So far I have only taught her how to use the toaster and microwave. I used to run with a fire hall and me and on of my sistrs were burned when we were younger. Both by differnt things me by fire her by hot water right of th stov she was about 2 and was about 5. So know I'm at the point were she wants to start learning how cook. And the tought is frighting to me. What is good age to start eaching cooking 101?

I don't think it is unreasonable for you to start teaching her to cook now. As long as you are supervising her, and giving her your undivided attention, then cooking should be a relatively safe thing for you to do together. Of course, I would start her off with easy recipes now, and save the more complicated stuff for when she gets a bit older. Good luck!

Well, she can probably heat up things in the oven like brownies or freezer food by 11. But not like.. huge Thanksgiving turkey. Simple things. And she can probably boil water. Just tell her that hot things should not be touched and she should get the idea. At first you can supervise her, by 14 she could do those things unsupervised.
