dual core or quad core???help????!!!!

i am confused about what is the difference between this two processors? please help me because i want to upgrade my computer to quad core. what are the benefits if i will upgrade to quadcore and at the same time its dis advantages? thanks a lot!

Dual core is great (2 processors) but quad core is even better (4). If you wait awhile, the price for quad-core will go down, but by then there will probably be other multi-core (8-core, 12-core etc)
I disagree with deathvans, alienware are overpriced, you can build a computer yourself with the same amount of power WAY cheaper.

Yez, indeed. They are overpriced. You can build what type of computer if you want. If your a Gaming type or Application Type. But for now. ALLIENWARE still has their own ALLIEN TECHNOLOGY. That's why they called in their name. ^_^

other than price there the chip either has 2 or 4 cores or 2 processors or 4 processors on one chip. speed in processing are the main benefit and for the normal person it is not needed.

Well, let see, the advantages is.. is that your computer will be much more faster than dual core.. Cause it is quadcore.. And in the same time, the big dis advantages is.. is that, after you bought a Quad core now, when months past, or a year, the price will be more cheaper than the usual. So, you'll be saying later, "why did i buy it now? oh, damn!" hehehe.. Well, regarding to the speed, quadcore is one of the best, but if you want to buy a computer. Check this out..
