Bonfire night or Guy Fawkes night is an English celebration. Guy Fawkes and his companions had plotted to blow up the Houses of Parliament but they were caught before any damage was done. So it is to celebrate that the people involved were caught.
I can't remember the dates but that's the basic reason for celebrating Bonfire Night.

They were actually caught on the night of the 4th of November. We have bonfire night on the 5th because that would have been when they were "officially" caught.

I have no idea, I guess I could look it up on the internet, but I just have not had a chance, I know it is something that i did a lot when I was younger with classmates, on beaches as I live near the Pacific Ocean and all. but mostly for some it was to keep warm I think not really sure.
