Oh man! My kids got head lice!

...Turns out my kids have been playing with another kid who has head lice. We have caught it earlly, but I'm wondering what have been some of the good methods of getting rid of the pests? What products have worked well and what products have failed?
...Does anyone know how long the bedding spray works? Does it have a residual effect or do I need to respray everyday?
...Is it safe to shampoo more often than every seven days with the lice shampoo?
...What has your experience been with these pests?

I really feel for you...we were foster parents and had several kids show up with it. The worst one was a a girl we got that they were so thick in her hair that the hair actually moved on it's own when her head was still. We used, believe it or not, white vinegar. It stinks to high heaven but it works.
