Ok me and my husband have three daughters. And untill the baby came we all had are own cat plus one Family dog. So that was four people and four cats. Now he wants to get the baby a kitten. I know we have handled many more animals we used to rescue them. But meand the kids are the ones that have to take care of them. I just fel like we have enough going on with out another little fuzzy ball right now. He beleive though that the baby will feel left out as she gets older and doesn't have her own cat to love and call her own. What do you think. Please give me your thoughts.

I'd wait until she was older. And by waiting, she will be able to enjoy the kittenhood of it all, too. Besides, maybe she won't like cats. *gasp* ;)

oh not likely that she wont like them. She loves the other cats everyday and they suck it up just like when the other kids do it.

That's good. We raise and show coonhounds and our youngest doesn't like coonhounds. Sad. He's a cat and small dog fan. He doesn't like dogs that are larger. He does have an awesome cat he rescued. A mainecoon and a jrt x rat terror x treeing feist dog who's a total joy.

Wait until the baby is older and can take an active part in caring for a kitten. Babies and toddlers are so much work, if it were me there's no way I'd consider it until the child is at least 5 or 6 years old.

In my opinion, cats are very very sweet :). Just have some animal friend. It is better to take care of one firm than it neglect

I agree with the people say wait until the child is older. They will feel more attached to an animal they picked out and one that they are responsible for caring for. Not to mention, the kitten won't become bonded with a baby. It will bond with whoever takes care of it so getting it a kitten when it is too young to bond is pointless.

Tell your husband that you want to wait until the baby is old enough to ask for and pick out her own kitty.

Yes I agree. with everyone else. if that is his reason for getting another cat. than you should wait til the child is older and can pick out their own pet. it will have more meaning that way.
