Sarah Palin Is a Godsend for McCain

Do you agree with this article?
Palin is a godsend to McCain. She injects charisma and novelty into what would otherwise have been a deadly dull ticket. She has a compelling record of battling corruption in Alaska — uncovering misconduct by fellow Republicans and beating a GOP pork-king governor in a primary.
And his choice of her suggests that the old John McCain — the bold, fighting Senate maverick — is back. (News that Palin’s daughter is pregnant should make no difference. The governor had disclosed the fact to McCain, and he, like the tolerant and wise person he is, accepted it.)
The Palin pick also aims straight at Obama’s biggest problem: his difficulty in attracting the votes of women over 40. To win in November, a Democrat needs to win this group by a wide margin, yet Obama now trails by four points.

Palin also makes it far harder to paint a McCain administration as a third term for Bush, yet the "Bush-McCain" charge lies at the core of Obama’s campaign.

I thought she was a godsend for McCain because she ensured votes from the Hillary camp that want a woman in office, and votes from the evangelical right that want an overly religious candidate. She's good for attracting shallow voters. Is she a good pick for her politics? That remains to be seen.

She seems to bring some life into the stodgy type of picture McCain shows.

She certainly made things more interesting. It got people to pay attention again. The Obama novelty has long worn off, and well, McCain is no stranger to us. Biden has been around for a while. People were tired of politics. But at this their head perked up. Who is this girl? It wasn't same old same old anymore. It's some fresh air so to speak.
Was it a wise choice? We'll see. Was it a good strategic move? Yes. With the announcement he took the wind out of Obama's sail coming out of the DNC being that the announcement was made the next day. Nobody was really interested in Obama anymore, nobody was really interested in analyzing his speech, everybody was all over who is Sarah Palin. That drew major interest to the McCain campaign. Important, too, because now people were interested in the Republican convention.
The rest, we'll have to see how it plays out;)

Well Sarah Palin maybe a godsend to McCain for the following reasons,- she is not entirely out of touch with youth
- she's got the anti-abortion vote with her daughter's untouched "bun in the oven"- she is a woman and may help on the femaile demographic
- she isn't just some ex-military yakking about how she was a POW at any possible instance
but dispite all of these facts she reminds me of a semi-sane version of Ann Coutler.
Also, she can't even keep track of her daughters, she tried to fire someone who wouldn't fire her ex brother-in-law which is currently under investigation, the state closed her business for violating state law and she went on a talk radio and let the man call her oppenent in the senate a "b*tch", "evil" and a "cancer". Now I left cancer for last, why? Because her oppenent is an ex cancer survivor. Now it may not have come from her mouth but the host stated pretty much that "I know you want to say this" while she was laughing her quite loud in the backgorund.
Now that's a woman who is a real representative of the American people, wouldn't you agree?

I am excited about Palin being the VP nominee. She is a breath of fresh air to the whole process. It is going to be worthwhile to vote after all. I agree--it does not matter that Palin's daughter is expecting. It does not matter that she has a disabled child. This woman is for real, she faces many of the same challenges that other women, other Americans face.

She is a Godsend. She represents the silent majority of women whom the media never cared too much about, the pro=life, conservative Christians. She has experience as the governor of Alaska and not only that, experience in doing what many women do and is not acknowledged, multitasking. Also she will attract the older women those who lived with the period where abortion became common and many of these women found that they were not being heard - the ones who could not have their own children. Now things are turning around.

I think she was a great pick...I think he made a really smart move. I also think that it may have been just the thing McCain needed to move ahead of BO. I think she's a strong woman with strong morals who'll do a great job as VP or if need be, President.

I have been hoping for Palin since I found out she was being considered. I am impressed with her no nonsense approach. Those that scream about inexperience should look at Obama's experience I think there are parallels there. I also think that inexperience can be an asset but they have a different way of seeing things. If inexperience is to be utilized I prefer it to be in the lesser position of authority.
I also feel it is time for a woman in the White House, but again breaking ground in a lesser capacity....it will open doors though for greater things. As for her daughter being pregnant, I don't believe I saw her name on the ticket so why make a fuss. Sometimes I wonder how real these political figures are with their perfect backgrounds and perfect families, and it makes me wonder how well they really relate to the real American people. Reality is not perfect and I can feel a lot better knowing there is some reality trying to get into the White House.
I think real people that had been through real life make a more informed decision in the long run. I have to admit it would be really nice to have a politician that isn't perfect.....I gotta admit it would be endearing to have them sneeze, or burp, or heaven forbid pass gas just like the rest of us.
