Buying a net/laptop like asus eePC

I am thinking about buying an net/laptop like asus eePC . I don't know if this a good idea since they seem to have very simple hardware. Which one do you recommend and what is your experience with it?

I have never heard of the laptop your talking about I have personally used both Dell, and IBM laptops, both have been very good and durable for me with out any problems. I have even dropped them accidentally with out any problems. (don't recommend the dropping part)
