I just usually press skip, but will it add to your earnings if you actually put something?

I have been told that the more responses you get the more it helps you earn. Tags would help you possibly get your discussion viewed more and earn more by getting those responses. Sometimes I will tag things but most of the times I just skip it. I guess it just depends if I am in the mood or not. Sometimes I just want to throw some quick responses up and be done and other times I have a chance to take my time.

I do not believe that adding tags itself helps you to earn more. But, I always add tags to discussions I start, and those that I respond to. I want more people to view what I have started, so I think of anything that I might use to search for that topic. Sometimes I search for topics if I am feeling particularly well-educated on a matter at the moment, and I am sure that there are others that do the same. So, I like giving them something to search for. Also, I want people to see my responses when I make them. The more people that see a discussion, the higher chance that they will come across my response. Whether it is only to hit the (+) or (-), or if they actually read it and, bonus, comment on what I had to say, it is all the more interesting.
So, even if tagging doesn't directly increase what you are earning here on myLot, I highly recommend that you do it anyway.
