Does anyone else love the bad weather like I do? Gustav has finally made its way to us this morning it was only a Cat 1, but I love it. I think it has now been downgraded to a tropical depression, but it is raining some kinds of chicks and peas here. I just love it. I wish I was a storm chaser.

baileycows you have to be kidding, hurricanes coming and you are happy. please, there are people who could be hurt, people who might die, and I see nothing wonderful or worthy of loving in this kind of bad weather. No I do not love hurricanes and deadly storms and earthquakes, not at all.

I respectfully disagree. To me it is scary to know that a storm is out there in the Gulf and could really mess things up for us. We got really lucky with Gustav and only had weather like a bad rainstorm, but I know from history that it could have been much worse. We had a rough time from Katrina in 05, Ivan was no fun in 04, and I still remember Frederic when I was a child (1979). It's really rough to be without power for weeks, as happened to me with Frederic and with Katrina. Even with Ivan, we were without power for more than a day. I'm glad that you were safe and that you had a good time, but I really disagree with your take on hurricanes. Best to you and to those who may see some trouble from Hanna, Ike and Josephine!

According to the news, we're right in the path of Hannah, she'll be here by the weekend, and I will definitely be going to the store tomorrow to stock up on several things. However, I will not be leaving the house if she does come. I will be sitting in my front room, if we lose electricity, with lots of candles lit, enjoying watching the rain. I love to sleep during rain storms. The sound of the rain on the roof lulls me to sleep so nicely.

I love them too! I know we must be in a group of our own! There's this sick excitement about those kinds of storms although dangerous! A storm chaser-maybe not that brave! I like to watch from inside my apartment. I like to be prepared with flashlights, food, batteries, radio etc. just in case. I know that where I live in NY we get some nasty snow storms/blizzards sometimes and we can get snowed in pretty bad sometimes. I hate it after awhile when I need to get out to go somewhere important, but while I'm in the house watching all that snow coming down and piling up and hitting 12+ inches I think it's cool! That is until it gets to be over 2 feet and I'm running out of stuff that I need! But those storms do alot of damage and hurt alot of people so I do feel bad for the people who lose their homes and worse even so I understand that they are a dangerous thing and should be feared.
