Seeing as this is my first discussion thread, I only felt it appropriate to dedicate it to the Foo Fighters, who, without exaggeration, started me on my love of music. They were the first band that I ever truly followed and owned more than a few songs off assorted albums. The first song I ever heard was their cover of Prince's "Darling Nikki," and it blew my mind...granted I was eleven, but since then I have now come to really appreciate what the raw power of Dave's voice did for that song. Prince is the man, don't get me wrong, but when Dave cries out in vain for his Nikki, well, there is nothing Prince's pop version could do to win me over. When I found out Dave was a drummer, I became a drummer. I saw my first show in 2005 at the Meadowlands the day before my first SAT. I live for these guys just like Dave, Taylor, Chris and Nate live for their fans. I have been to two shows since then and each has gotten consecutively better than the first. My second show was at the SUNY Binghamton, me and two friends drove down from Buffalo where we go to college to see them, I was pressed right up against the stage barrier so that was an experience in itself. And then again this summer I was lucky enough to catch one of my friends extra tickets he had, and returned to the Meadowlands to see the Foos play their final show of their final tour (not permanently, they are just taking a break, and rightfully so, both Dave and Taylor have infants at home) but nonetheless, that show was a mind-melting experience. There was everything from full-out rocking to a one-on-one acoustic set with Dave, and then closing out with the Who's "Won't Get Fooled Again," lead by Super Grass' Gaz Coombes, and still came out for an encore! Aside from being an extremely talented band, you cannot help but respect them for all their ideals. They are all great friends, they love their fans, and they always put their heart and soul into every concert to make it a memorable experience, and I know I will never forget a single one of their shows.

I have only ever before bought one CD before foo fighters, and that was a CD from New Zealand. I can't remember the title of that CD but it's obviously not that important or I would have. They are a great band and all there songs are fantastic, I bought 2 CD's from HMV and there the only band in my iTunes playlist, all other music (like even Nickelback) are all listened to fro youtube!
