i think that we can all pretty much agree that it seems like music has changed over the past few years and in my eyes i really like some of the changes to certain types of music, and i know that some of its great and others in my opinion is not, and i have talked to a few people about this and they have the same opinions that some of the changes is good and then again some of them could be done without, so what about all of you do you think that the music today has changed for the better or for the worse? thanks for taking the time out of your day to read my discussion and i hope that you will reply...i really hope that you all had a great day and that your night is good as well, again thanks for taking the time to read my discussion.

I do agree that music has changed but it depends on the genre. Like for example rap and hip hop is going downhill. I think if I hear Soulja Boy, Lil Wayne, or any other junk one time, I think I will scream. Now I know they are making their mean green but my poor eardrums have had it so bad that I been going into the wayback machine to keep the memory of when rap and hip hop was still great. Now don't get me wrong, I still love Common, A Tribe Called Quest, Talib Kweli etc but sometimes I just need to listen to some vintage stuff like Sugar Hill gang, Whodini and all others from back then.

Not really. It's become much more superficial. Well, the mainstream has. I tend to focus more on indie artists who still care about the world. I don't think anything has changed for the better, but it is nice to hear something new every once in awhile. And I like the fact that a lot of genres are mixing together to form new kinds of styles.

Worse. MUCH worse. I say we should bring back 80s music. Best decade for music ever. Even for rap/hip-hop. Normally I can't stand rap/hip-hop, but I actually find the really old stuff to be tolerable and surprisingly intelligent (compared to what everyone's listening to these days).
