Nails.....short or long?

I am a girl and I like short nails. I am more of a tomboy and so I am always doing things that I need short nails for. When you have long nails, you have to do everything differently. Women with long nails even have trouble picking up change. I also wear contacts and long nails would make putting in and taking out my contacts very dificult and dangerous. I don't think that it is worth it. Long nails are supposed to make you look more feminine and beautiful, but when you have trouble doing simple everyday things, you just look more like an idiot. Not all people have trouble with their long nails, but most do, especially those with fake nails.

I prefer my nails to be cut short! Because its neat and its easier when I have so many things to do, I do paint them occasionally and I like light colors.

I have short nails, I don't very often paint them as I then to have my hands in and out of water a lot during the day. I would love ot go to the nail centre and have some lovely nails put on for me as a treat, but I don't think they would last the day. Nice thought though

Long nails are good when wearing nail polish. But when not, it is better to cut it short to avoid dirts that accumulate there from showing. Long nails are subject to accumulation of dirt so I will always prefer my nail shorter when I am so busy and doing a lot of things around. However long fingernails make the fingers look slender and when polished with color that match the color of dress, it makes a woman looks fashionable. And by the way, long fingernails also serve as weapon for a woman. She can always scratch the face of anyone who wants to get one over her.

I want short nails, no dirt and not look untidy, i don't want my nails to be painted of different colors just a nail polish it looks clean and neat...^_^

it depends really on the occasion, when i go to sophisticated functions with my friends, i want to go with a freshly manicured long nails, but when i go out with my kids, i like them short and no polish, when i go out with my husband or other relatives, i like them long but with polish on simple colors such as white or pink.

i have long nails, but i also put a limit on my nails; i don't let them get too long.i keep mine with some length to them because for most of my life i bit my nails and they were always short, too short even. I quit that nasty habit so i keep my nails as a reminder. (and trust me quitting the habit of biting your nails is not easy)

I love my nails long and freshly manicured. It looks so elegant and the hand belongs to a woman. However, I cannot maintain long nails because I end up scratching myself at night when I'm asleep and most specially when i had my daughter. I had to keep my nails short all the time.

I always cut my nails short because it feels clean when they're short. When they're long, it's hard to write and work on other things. Sexy and smart?!

Hi there dong1970... As a medical student, I always make sure that my nails are short and clean. I have a lot of things to do in our laboratory and stuffs. I also maintains the clean look of a med student. I never let my nails grow long, and I haven't tried it long. They say (my friend) that they wear long nails as a fashion statement. Yeah, they wear it with all those nail polish. Oh how I find girls with long nails really uhm, dirty... Sorry to use the term. It is just my own point of view. Keep Posting!

Women generally prefer to have long nails but not all can have long nails maybe because of the nature of their work where long nails would be a fdisadvantage, or their nails are too soft and break easily or they just cant grow their nails long. Why would they prefer long nails? because it makes the fingers look long and slender and so much sexier than if they had short nails. I have very long nails which i love to paint in bright blood red nail polish!

hi there. well, girls view things differently, some like short nails, and some think that long nails are sexy. for me, i like my nails short, sometimes i like them long where i can put colors on them. but i dont know with my boyfriend he doest like my nails to be long. how cool is that. lol. heheh

I prefer mine short but many women think long nails look more attractive. It may even go back to a cultural thing. It's used to be status thing. Longs nails showed you didn't have to do manual labor.
