Hi,my friends, In college,I majored in Mechanical Design and Manufacturing Automation.(To be frank with you,I don't like the major. For me,it is too hard to learn about descriptive geometry, the principle of mechanism and so on.) I graduated from college three years ago,and I have worked in an ourdoor furniture company as a R&D assistant, and my major subject is a bit relative to my job now. What about you? What was/is your major in university? And this major subject is relative to your job now?

I graduated in 2006 with my B.A. in Computer Information Systems and although I am not using the degree as intended, I learned how to use Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, Frontpage(now Expressions) in school, I am able to pick up clerical work at least that requires the temp to be very computer literate.

Yes this is true. The subjects plus advice from professors, staff around etc does help in life in some form or fashion.

I decided to take up Bachelor of Science in Accountancy in college because I found our Elective subject (Basic Accounting) during high school interesting. I graduated more than a decade ago, twelve years and six months to be exact. After graduation, I took a review course before going through the CPA (Certified Public Accountant) Board Exam last 1996. Unfortunately, I did not pass the test, so I decided to have a break from studies for a while before finally going to the real battle in the outside world. But my planned vacation was cut short because a local bank called me up after less than a month. Luckily, I easily got the job and stayed with that bank for more than five years. At first, I was assigned as an administrative staff in the loans and discounts department or Account Management Division. But I was later on promoted to a higher position in the Central Accounting Department - Reports. At present, I have been with my third job as a financial analyst in another local bank. I could say that I was able to practice what I graduated from because in general, I am doing accounting job since I started work after graduation. I am quite happy and thankful about it.
