Sometimes it is very annoying to read some stories, purely imaginary, running into many sentences or even a page, trying to make us believe that such stories are real and the incidents there really happened to them and this and that, and one pretty well knows that it's for earning purpose only and not otherwise! Okay, let them do that but not with much exaggeration so that one cannot discern it!

I usually consider from whom I heard or where I read such stories before I decide whether to believe that the statement even might be true. If I, like you, have already decide the recital to be untrue, I would see no reason to continuing to read the article or story. I wonder if some stories are sold by the number of words rather by content. In English composition, we were taught to be descriptive and brief.

How can we say they are just fiction. There are many thngs in the world that are hard to believe. Just cause we have not had similar experiences, we cannot say they are untrue. If you find some one exaggerating, let them do it. Its their way of having fun.

Have you also heard that sometimes truth is stranger than fiction!? That being the case, there are things that one finds it hard to believe in given circumstances, if it's true or false! It's true that people may or may not have similar experiences. But the thing is if exaggeration is curtailed, every one will start to believe, irrespective of the story being true or fictitious.
Thank you very much for your thoughtful response!

It does seem there is an industry out there that does have writings that one could wonder if it is true or not.
Sometimes I have a hard time discerning things myself. I have to separate what is false and what could be possibly true.
I don't like gossip or rumors as a rule. Never really did. I like to be choosy as to what I finally want to believe. I like to weigh different circumstances before I draw any conclusions.
