Do you SMOKE?

Do you still smoke once in a while or more frequently than brushing your teeth? If you're a smoker will you continue to smoke cigarettes until the end of you life? If you are a non smoker, have you ever tried it and will you ever smoke again? It haunts me nowadays that even us knowing that there's global warming we still continue to do the bad habits that we got used to just by thinking that I'm just a tiny fraction from contributing to global warming. Though we are not fully aware that if we sum up all the people who does the bad habits that destroys the world, it gives stronger impact just the same as tons of vehicles that produces carbon dioxide that pollutes the air. I was once a smoker too but when I finally started a family and began to have two sons I decided to finally quit smoking because I still think and feel that they have the right to stay in a better and safer world. We should always remember that the earth is our home...and we MUST take care of it for us and for the coming generations.

Yes I do smoke and have for over 40 years. I quit for a year then started again. I am lucky enough to have no repercussions from smoking. My breathing and lungs are normal and I have this checked every 6 months. So at this point I have no intentions of quiting.

Well eventually you will quit to. Your opinion will make you start to realize that enough is enough and you're a lot cooler when you don't smoke compared to you officemates who does. Good luck. Happy posting.

I am a smoker. I don't smoke very much in comparision to many people I know. I don't advocate starting in the first place that's for sure. I do think I will probably continue to smoke (little and often). I have been smoking around half of my life so far. I have a concern that if I stop after such a length of time, that as my lungs clear after spending years with a coating on them that they will be some what raw and exposed initially. The air now contains so many pollutants that are damaging to us. In an area such as mine the quantities of asbestos in the air are alarming. So my worry is that during the period of my lungs recovering they will absorb these and inturn they will be far more detrimental to my health whether immediately or in the long run, than to continue smoking. Anyone know any different? I'd be happy to hear and mayb then I could give it up with confidence.

I truely beleive in the natural approach, I think if anyone is going to medicate my body it is up to me as a human being to decide. Thanks for your comments, do pineapple have something in it to help? I vaguely remember someone recommending it for calming properties?
13 Sep 08
Do you have any idea if that's why pineapple works? How's your Dad now?

Simple as deciding to quit once and for all. Start drinking pineapple juice becaus that's what my chain smoker dad did and it worked. Exercise and meditate a lot. Calm all your senses..its the best way to cure sickness compared to medicines that these pharmaceuticals produce. Nature is the best cure for all our sickness.

No, I don't smoke, and I never do, to be honest I don't like the way they smell, it doesn't smell good, it cost money, and addictive.. I don't understand why people like to smoke despite the bad effect :)

I do smoke before. But not really a chain-smoker. I was just influenced by my co-workers. But I already stopped since I stopped working in that office as well. I am now into clean living. Exercise, healthy foods, & all those healthy stuff thing.

I've never tried smoking and certainly never plan to either. Its a nasty habit and I'm glad its one I never took up. I wish they would outlaw it completely. Because even second hand smoke does so much damage. I know, because my lungs were damaged by second hand smoke from my parents. I'm 49 and have severe asthma with COPD and use oxygen frequently now. Docs say my lungs are this way because of the air I breathed during my childhood. And as if that isn't bad enough I lost my grandmother, my father in law, and last year my Mom to lung cancer.

Dont try it at all its not worth it. All there is to it is nothing but awful smoke and taste. I regret doing it though.

oh, i hate smoking. when people smoke around me, i just hold my breath as long as possible to avoid passive smoking , which is said to be double harmful than direct smoking.

second hand smoke is deadly. Wild. Smokers just don't care at all. Thanks to some cities here in the Philippines like Makati our own New York. They started banning smoking inside the malls and bars. Cool.

I don't smoke, and I won't try. I don't like the smell of the smoke. I'm allergic to it. It makes me cough.

I don't smoke because I know it is bad for the health. But some members of the family smoke. I keep on reminding them to quit from smoking slowly.

I have never been a smoker. A few times when I was younger and my friends were trying it because they thought it was cool I tried it with them, but it is not something that I ever enjoyed or did often.

I used to be a smoker, and I'm free from this poison addiction. It's hard for a person to quit, well i had a hard time quitting but with a mind of self determination i had done it. Last time whenever it try to start again i had this feeling of gross over it when i had one, it's unbearable...... Geez........ For those smokers, be firm to quit don't lose your determination to addictions.
