Holidays - Dominican Republic?

I am planning to take my girlfriend away for 10 days / 2 weeks next summer as her birthday / Christmas present on an all inclusive good quality hotel holiday. Basically I have been looking around and not had all that much luck after my initial searches (ie before it was made into a definate plan). So does anyone know a good website? Or could you suggest a place to go, as at the moment its looking like The Dominican Republic? Ideally the place will just be beautiful sandy beaches and tropical sun with pools and lovely restaurants and things. Its a romantic sort of holiday but it also needs to have plenty to do activities wise. Anyone thats useful I will make sure to + you.
