" I decide to do good, but i don't do it.' Rom 7:19
Do you feel like you keep having the same fight over and over? Paul talks about this in Romans, 'I decide to do good, but i don't really do it; i decide not to do bad, but then i do it anyway' (Romans 7:19). Why does this happen? Well, when you try to make choices based on feelings you're going to end up in a mess. Sure, God gave you feelings and the ability to make choices, but He always intended that those decisions to be submitted to the leading of His Holy Spirit. Listen, 'But the counselor, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all the things and will remind you of everything I have said to you '(John 14:26). A counselor gives sound advice and who better to advice the choices you make than Him? The Holy Spirit cannot lie; He is the Spirit of God.
Sometimes we have to fight battles in life that are impossible to win with our own strength. We look at what we're up against and it's quite obvious that it's not a fair match. Hello! surely you've not forgotten the story of David and Goliath (1Samuel 17), when David looked at the giant he didn't focus on his armor and massive spear; he knew that God was bigger than any giant and was on his side! Goliath was killed with one hit from a pebble. When you get your focus right your trust and confidence in God will grow, then you'll need is a 'pebble' of faith in action and your giant will come crashing down.

These are very true points you have raised. Even without the Biblical undertones the main competitor we face in our lives is ourself. Faith in our own ability is equally as important as faith in our chosen God because one cannot truly survive without the other. We all have or have had battles with inner demons and with the right mindset and attitude we can overcome all!

just this day, i woke up battling myself about being dissappointed. I really prayed hard because i dont want to start my day with negative thoughts in my mind. then i chose to forgive the person who brought dissappointment to me. its not easy because i got hurt, but i decided to, as a result, i felt like the burden in my heart is melting away, thanks to God for His grace.
